I agree. DRL indeed gives premium look to the car if it is branded as premium. Also I think chrome door handles is another small cosmetic feature which is missing (although I added aftermarket ones).

Details about the welcomed stuff will follow soon, post installation.

Here are some teasers

Honestly, I expected them to last a lifetime since they are JDM Honda OEM, but they simply refused to befriend with Honda India.

Anyway, this had its own lessons to be learnt. Thanks.

One of the greatest advantages of buying a true global car is that you get a wide spectrum of optimization in terms of aftermarket accessories from around the globe. Whereas Honda Jazz/Fit is sold in 75 countries, Honda City/Fit Aria is found in 45.

I'd suggest you check out different ebay global sites and I am optimistic you'll find some interesting stuff, but please double-triple-quadruple check the year(there will be an overlap for same model may have been launched in different countries in different years), specs, compatibility, quality, authenticity and even delivery aspects. Remember that Asian and or Indian specs may vary in certain ways. Take a calculated risk. The current gen of City(since Feb 2017) already accommodates DRLs as an OEM.

Sounds interesting! Why not consider sharing the pictures of each of these with us all? Thanks in advance and good luck for your planned tasteful mods.

Re: 1.5 years with my Honda Jazz V MT

Have received a PM from a dear BHPian with below query on shark fin antenna. Since this is an open forum, so sharing for the benefit of all.

Quote:
Could you please confirm the source from where you have acquired the shark fin antenna ?
Please also suggest whether I can go ahead with the following product.
https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B01...m_readyviews=1

This will be for my UT Amaze.
I purchased it from Aliexpress Link. Why? This product met all my requirements:

- The FM reception must be at par with the OEM whip antenna. No compromise acceptable.
- The fit and finish must be at par with Honda OEM shark fin antenna as available on the City/CRV.
- No tampering with the OEM wiring setup so as to spare from any warranty issues. Should be easy to revert to OEM whip type antenna if needed.

Ofcourse, there was a calculated risk on the quality of FM radio reception(I relied on the percentage of positive feedbacks from earlier buyers) and color match & finish(Alabaster Silver). Was lucky enough to win on every aspect.

Well, my suggestion to you would be 'NO'. Why? I had one of my colleagues who had this one installed on his Verna. By chance when Amazon delivered him in office, he showed it to me. My observations:

- Houses a short antenna rather than liberal copper core concealed. Later upon installation, I took his feedback on the radio reception to hear that there was a compromise. But this isn't important for him as he rarely tunes in.
- The look is different from that of Honda OEM. Will keep reminding you of something aftermarket.
- I think the price is towards the higher side for this quality of product.

Hope this helps. Thanks.

Cheers!

Thanks for your suggestion.
I have been searching for a Shark fin antenna in Urban Titanium shade, but not found anything other than the above mentioned Amazon item.
Anyways, I will keep my search on for a better one.
I will try to contact HASS for the price of new shark fin antenna of City.

Well Hickstead, contacting HASS will not help in this case. Why? Honda doesn't allow over-the-counter sales(like Maruti) and any spare will only be issued against your car's VIN. Meaning, what has been OEM supplied in your car is only what can be arranged as a replacement by Honda. Moreover, any replacement part will only be installed and not merely handed over to the customer.

So the only way you can arrange a Honda OEM shark fin antenna for your Amaze is from a scrap market. That said, my suggestion to you would be to try your luck on the international online sites with Urban Titanium/similar-matching colors.

Cheers!

Re: 1.5 years with my Honda Jazz V MT

Hi No honking,
Am sharing a few photos of the Alloy Hubs done. Switched the alloy hubs when I gave my car for service and rotation of tyres.
On the original hub I got a black sticker with Honda emblem done in red colour (Radium).
I gave the idea how and what I wanted done to a person in Navi Mumbai who had made the dentist emblem for my car. He does digital printing. Each hub cost me approximately Rs.120/-
An update on the previous hub that I paid Rs.2500/- for the emblem with red colour.
The plastic top with “H” is stuck on a black hub.
Water/Moisture entered and damaged the red colour as the glue lost its seal.
Have separated one to get an idea how it was done.
Rs.2500/- for this I feel was too much.
I will be trying out some ideas will share when is complete.

Hi Dr. ToothyPetrohead,
This certainly looks cool and contrasts well with the alu-silver alloys of your Honda City. A very well conceived aftermarket approach. Also, it feels great to have a glimpse of your snooty maintained steed.

Yes please! Do share the details, would love to understand and experiment.

Between, a couple of weeks back, my Jazzy celebrated her second birthday. So was the time for her 3rd insurance premium. Details below:

Type: Honda Assure
Insured value post depreciation: 4.85L
NCB applicable: Yes
Insurance premium: 13,345/- (mentioned on the policy document)
After dealer's discount, paid: 12,039/-

The weekend just gone by, had the PUC certificate(for INR 95/-[including GST] valid for 1 year) renewed as well for I am very particular about document compliance at all the time. Besides baring you from any challans or unnecessary harassment or waste of time, more importantly it mentally keeps you happy and free to drive anytime-anywhere without a second thought.

Also, gifted her with a DIY detailing session. Link (A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide).

Cheers!

Re: 1.5 years with my Honda Jazz V MT

Jazz Owners,
Right rear door of my 1.5 year old Jazz power window is acting up. The movement is very laborious and it seems that there is lot of friction between the glass and the window channel by the sound it makes ..(sound of glass moving on the rubber). In fact this issue is with all the power windows but more prominently in rear right window. I took my car to Deccan Honda Pimpri and they said that it may due to dust in window channel and have cleaned the channel but it has not resolved the issue. The power window motor sounds like it is being pushed to limit. Right from the day I took delivery of my Jazz, I noticed that the windows are not free moving. But I was told that it's a new car and the channels are tight, so there will be some friction initially... which was sensible enough reason.

Now what are my options. Should I ask the dealer to open up the door panel and check ( I am reluctant to let them open the door panel so early in her life..) or is there any other tip/trick like spraying the lubricant in the channel etc.

Also, has anyone faced same issue ..and if yes how it was resolved ?

Awaiting response. Thanks.
