If memos car was dragged with 'zero' weight reduction, stock tyres, stock suspension and with 'zero' aftermarket add on's I doubt if 16.9secs wouldve been possible. However, even if one car manages to clock that timing, its definitely not conclusive, I mean I dont think its representative of average baleno performance right?

Speaking about ACI and OD, well, both have quoted different timings, guess they tested at different altitudes , hence I preferred to take an average for my calculation.

Couple of posts earlier you have mentioned 17secs, hence my rebuttals! 18.xx secs sounds realistic!

All seats in the car. I think only the stepney was removed, though I can't be sure. Rock hard suspension. Wrong tyre choices, ie 195 14s with 30 psi up front and 165 13s with 20 psi at the back. So yeah, as good as, if not worse than stock. And we've clocked 17 many times in testing. No, we don't have trees or laser triggers. And yes, I've done 11.0 flat to 100, and that's before I learnt to launch right. Full load, stepney and all.

And no, I don't think the SX4 will do a 17 second qmile.

There you go...it wasnt stock ;-)

But still, I repeat ".... even if one car manages to clock that timing, its definitely not conclusive, I mean I dont think its representative of average baleno performance right?"

Well, if you think otherwise, tell me why would you clock a 17.01secs(official Blore Speed run time) on Mclaren's Baleno which was far away from being stock??? You see where Im coming from??

Kya re, Mcl's car had one port job on it. That also had bad tyre choice, and I think had seats etc. And we did a 16.6 in the practice, and I launched bad on the final run, so 17.0 or something.

And my car also does 17.0x only, as far as I can see. But we digress, this is the SX4 thread.

Mclarens car ran with seats and all in the speed run '06??? Ahem ahem...I saw none, I was right beside for hours!!!

Dude, I have both your practice runs on tape, you did 16.9x in both runs. Can show you if you'd like.

My apologies for having gone part off topic.

Guys, the mod team would appreciate it if you took your childish quibs and battles out of the public forum.
Leave this thread for the Maruti-Suzuki SX4.

I have not bothered to rip the car to its full potential as of yet as it still in the ruynning in state, and i am also known to be a very light footed driver so may be thats what makes the diff and a lot of low rpm drives through the city...........

An average mean an approx calculation of city driving and highway driving, but as of for the 950kms clocked till now only 270kms is of highway driving...

That's pretty good. For a heavy car with most of the running in the city, 14kmpl. Good to know that road anomalies are no hinderance.

so this only means the mileage of sx4 isnt anything severely underrated compared to a honda. and to say with those extra horses, and wheel sizes, this is definitely an acceptible figure to keep most sedate/sane drivers happy
