One question!

Whose does the Combi belong to ? - you as it is in your name ?

Them ? AS they have paid you back

Did you sign any forms for the sale of car?

Congratulations Dillsoft.

Its really nice to read about incidents where the cops are this helpful as opposed to the stories you usually get to hear.

Congrats! Am actually quite surprised the police acted so effectively.

So, Verna VGT is the final choice?

Great going diffsoft. Happy to know that you got your money back, but sad that you did not get the machine you love!

When will people learn that a good product alone just doesn't cut it!!!

I would suggest you also have a look at Optra Magnum; now you have a all new set of selections available.

Forge another signature on the sales deed - they seems to be good at that!

Wow,what an experience. It's sure scary. Very lucky you got the help of the Law and got your money back. Hats off to the police for prompt and helpful. Do give them some token of appreciation and also send a letter of your appreciation to that place.

Settle for the Verna with ABS.

Please don't forget to do that. This is the least we can do to encourage people who are honest.

Congratulations on the victory

What an adventure. Congrats Diffsoft. If I were you, i would'nt let them get off so easily. Take this story to the press. People like this should be stripped in public.

Thanks to everyone in Team BHP

Folks - thanks for your overwhelming response.

I have multiple thanks to Team BHP and this incident shows the power of its community.

1. Thanks for a detailed PDI checklist that helped me identify that the vehicle was old and damaged.

2. Thanks for enumerating the registration process so I knew that I should not sign on any Registration Forms till I am sure I am accepting the vehicle

3. Thanks for guiding me to unequivocally reject the vehicle upon finding the damages

4. Thanks of course for supporting me to fight the forgery lock, stock and barrel!

In the end those who intended to cheat me failed!

I am sending an appreciation letter to the Inspector and the Sub Inspector with a copy to the Police Commissioner - I would also like to thank them on behalf of Team-BHP; don't know whose permission I should take from Team-BHP.

I am planning to book Verna CRDi ABS SX top end version, change the tyres to 195 / 65 and add leather seats. Mostly will go to Trident Hyundai - I know them well cos I own a Santro through them and they have been very friendly to me (after the Skoda incident, how much one values good old friendly relationships )

Ajmat has raised a very interesting point cos the vehicle has been registered in my name, while the money has come back to me. The dealer has not asked me to sign the transfer forms (which I would have refused) and I think HappyWheels is right they can always forge the transfer forms!

Special thanks to Androdev, who was a constant companion at every step of the way!

Thanks folks - and hopfully I can now contribute to more posts than just mine

Cheers

Congrats Diffsoft !! Hope other dealer cum crooks will learn a lesson from this.

Others, watch out for that VIN no when you go to buy a new Skoda Combi . It will be interesting to see if they will pass this car to someone else !!

So in principal, you are the legitimate owner of the Skoda also. Claim it. Go to court to get possession
