Indica Vista Aqua TDi – Artic Silver. 7 Months and 10,000 KMs

Today we booked Indica Vista Aqua TDi. Artic silver in colour. The car is not in stock and will arrive in a week. We also need this much time to process the bank loan in SBI.

We were looking at a budget diesel car mainly to be used by my wife. The car, which should also possess highway capabilities. Initially we were thinking of Indica DLS, all turbo versions being phased out and out of stock, in two cities where we could buy from. Found only one turbo with one of the dealer but it was lying 7-8 months in open stockyard. Hence ruled it out. Then with some increased budget, we had a look at Vista TDi. Found to be perfect for the need. Difference between Terra and Aqua not being much, Aqua TDi is VFM car over Terra TDi.

Took a test drive of Vista TDi. Obviously it feels slower than Quadrajet and my XL Dicor. But this is expected. Engine performance and pick up etc. are at par with Indigo Tdi. Gear shift is totally different, feels precise than Indigo / Indica V2 range. Gear throws were also felt short, which is good. This is a Tata box but a cable operated one.

NVH levels are far superior than Indigo / Indica V2 range (with TDi engine) again. Overall a big car feel. Suspensions felt better than my XL.

By now BHPians must be knowing Vista Aqua trim level and interior space etc., so won’t elaborate on that here.

Expecting delivery with all processes done after 10 days. I plan to register it in first week of Jan 09. Dealer said this can be done by him and we don’t have a problem in keeping it parked for 10-15 days. In the meantime I may get door handles and OVRMs body coloured to get Aura look. This is offered by dealer in their standard accessory list for Vista, for Rs. 1,500/-.

On road price in my hometown is Rs. 4.24 Lacs, after recent price cuts due to Cenvat rate reduction. I guess this will be first Vista TDi on the forum.

Attached are the pics of Artic Silver Vista (these are Aura though)

We were on tight budget for Indica DLS, which was streched for Vista TDi. Couldn't strech it further. Simple as that.

Congrats, Bouncer!

Suggesting that you follow up with SBI constantly, till your loan is through, as their processing sometimes takes too long. Atleast it happened with me (despite having an existing home loan with them), where the car arrived before the loan was through. I had two wild horses to tame, the bank and the dealer, until then hehe.

By the way, how does the clutch feel on the TDi, compared to the Quadrajet (which was the lightest i ever stepped on)?

Which Tata Dealer?

Which Tata dealer are you picking the car from? Also did you squeeze the dealer for more freebies ?

Congratulations Bouncer for the Vista TDi, the first for Team-BHP.

Looks like you are one very satisfied Tata customer. A XL and a Vista in the same month. What next? A Nano, if launched this month end?

Excellent Choice

I consider this as the most VFM variant in VISTA range.

Congrats for your purchase!

Any choices/plans on ICE/Alloys/Other mods front?
