30KMPL @ 100-120 KMPH???
No offence dude but I can't believe this!! Must be the most efficient hathback.

But then again, its not about the car, its about the driver. Ask your friend to try out a different car on your next trip, who knows we might get a new thread!!

I think it is possible, my Fiesta returned on very careful driving to Lavasa about 21, Rest of the tank was in the city. Its all about how you drive. Extraordinary figures from ordinary cars is not rare anymore.

800/- ltr, isnt this on higher side, too expensive for changing oil.

Is that synthetic oil? Synthetic oils cost about 800 bucks a litre.

And if you come back with a claim of 30 kpl again (or God forbid...over that number), none of us are going to buy that too. Lets do this : I am scheduled to check out a Lonavla plot in the near future. We do a trip together and mind you, no hypermiling trip this one is going to be. I'll get one of my cars along. We will cruise at 110 - 130 with atleast 4 passengers onboard. If the magic Fabia gives a 30 kpl, I buy you guys lunch at Sunnys. If it is a more realistic figure, then you buy me a Sunnys lunch. Cool?
Instead, why not plan a team-bhp trip to lonavala? This way you'l have a good drive and more people to witness the miracle.

Maybe we can even do a comparo as to who's car gave what economy.

Lets form a hypothesis:

I dont have a Fabia. But i do have a Bolero from which i get 15-16 kmpl with a 2.5 litre Diesel engine on highways.

2.5/2 == 1.25

The Fabia has a 1.2 engine.

15 x 2 == 30 kmpl. Since we are taking .5 litre less we can accomadate the difference in calorific values of diesel and petrol

To the folks talking about weight, by Bolero unladen == Fabia laden. Actually lighter but then lets give it to the Fabia.

So as per the theory above a mileage of 30 kmpl is actually possible with a Fabia. To all those not agreeing buy a Bolero

Hmm, so if an F1 engine is 2.4ltrs.

Im guessing 1.2 / 2.4 x 30 = 15kmpl. And if we consider the weight of the F1 car which is about half the weight of an unladen Fabia. I think it possible for an F1 car to give over 15kmpl. LOL

See you have done a major technical blunder here. An F1 car cannot be driven on our highways so we will never know how much mileage it will give in those conditions. Whereas i have considered a Bolero a much better specimen for Indian highway and road conditions.

But if we consider ideal conditions yes if F1 give 15 kmpl fabia can give 30 kmpl.
