Hi Somashekar, where did you enquire about this?

Hope, by now you've got the installed. How do they look over regular use? Can you please post some pics of your car?

Thanks,
KK

Better you get this installed by the after-market. Will work out cheaper + compatible with an after-market stereo.

Don't bother. The regular air-con works just as fine.

Ditto (don't bother)

New Innova Access

Thanks GTO.

I guess, I'll have to :-)
Yesterday I gave my car for 40K km service. I was checking with the Toyota Service Advisor (Nandi Toyota). He was outright ruling out the possibility to add those accessories to the old version. He says -

1. MID: This requires a lot of work as well as prohivitively expensive. For this, we need to change the ECU, Wiring Harness and then the panel of course before being able to add the new AC touch controls. Wiring Harness itself costs about 50K and the ECU ~75K, according to him.

2. Auto Climate Control: For this, new sensors need to be added at few places (one I saw below the windshield just above the instrument cluster/panel behind the driving wheel). This too needs additional instrumentation inside the engine bay.

Overall he said, it costs ~2-3L extra for these features to be added to old version. He said many old Innova owners asked for this and he advised them to exchange the old one with the new version!

I guess, I have to give it up, unless I hear any aftermarket products arrive that are worth the cost. Anyway, these are only few creature comforts more than anything else. Even without these, I greatly enjoy my ride.

Cheers,
KK

kishor,as you said try if you can find some better aftermarket products with reliable fittings, or else live without them and enjoy your current ride.Dont think to exchange it now as you would loose more of its depreciation value then doin after few more years and running more miles ahead.

Though it is 2.5 years since the last post on this thread, I just thought of making it alive by sharing the latest on-road price of the VX 8 seater. In Pune, you have to shell out Rs 17,20,716 to bring it home. The break-up is as mentioned below:

Ex-Showroom - 14,41,870
Local Body Taxes - 38,210
Road Tax + Registration - 1,79,602
Toyota Protect - 56,035
Handling Charges - 5,000

If I am really lucky, I can get a pre-worshipped Innova, 3 year old, 60K km run Innova VX, 7 seater is just 8 lacs in another 4-5 months, fingers crossed. This is lesser than half of the current on-road price. Would it be a worthy buy?

I was lucky to get hold of a pre-worshipped Innova, which I brought home on 8th Nov 2014. Some of the related discussion and pictures can be found here on the "Used car price check" thread ----> http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...hread-662.html (The "USED" Car Price Check Thread)

Got a good deal on the sparsely run Innova, Feb-2009 registered, 7 seater, V model, 50.9K on the odo was brought home for 7.4 lacs.

That's a steal if it has been properly taken care of. Happy motoring.

Unfortunately that was not the case. I had to sell off that Innova even before it completed one year in my garage. Complete story can be read on my ownership thread from message #282 onwards over here ---> http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...khorse-19.html
