In running car, after much much difficulties I was able to shift it from neutral to 2nd which was the only gear working. And the gear shifting became normal again. In fact, Gears became much more smoother after I applied higher force left/right/up/down when gears were not engaging.
Anyone of you face any sort of similar thing?
VP - are you refering to your FIAT Linea?? i think this is a joke. i have not heard of something like this before . if it really is the case , you should first rush to the TASS. I hope you already have !

and btw , i thought you were not in mumbai !

I have also faced such situation but not in Linea It was Maruti 800 that I used to drive about 9 yrs back. The gear used to stuck. sometime it used to stuck at reverse and sometimes on 3rd gear. I used to drive the car for about a km or so and then it used to get back to normal .

I am shocked you faced it in Linea.

FastLove - This actually happened & I was scared to be left stranded on the road thinking some gear cable or clutch cable seems to have given way. But since, imdtly afterwards, it works really fine, I did not think of it as serious. Lets see. The car was not run for 15 days. and this was the 1st day post that.

I also think so. Thats why have yet not visited TASS. Lets see how it goes for next 2 days

Vahan, even i faced a similar situation once with my Zen. Was in a traffic jam for a long time, and clutch started behaving abnormally. Pulled over to the side and turned off the engine for 15 mins and everything was back to normal.

Another thing i forgot to mention in my 10K Linea update, while driving back from Ooty last week. Driving downhill at the ghat section for about 45 mins an "ABS Unavailable, refer handbook" message flashed on the car console, the amber ABS light on the dial came on, beeping at regular intervals. The braking was normal though. After madhumalai i pulled over and turned off the car for 15 mins. Started and the ABS light had disappeared. I guess the brakes had overheated on my way downhill. Nothing alarming but i thought Lineans should know !

Yes, my car remains parked under the Sun always but never faced any such issues earlier in my Ford Ikon

How do I know if leak is there?

BTW, When it happened, first the clutch was stuck not the floor but 1-2 inch above floor. When I pushed it hard 4-5 times, it improved slightly & I could engage atleast 2nd gear. After a minute it again stuck at the same place & refused to come up even after several frantic hard pushes. Actually it was damn scary. Was just released out of the traffic & was on clear road with cars moving around in speed now. Thankfully, because of the speed/ motion of my car, was able to pull over to roadside in motion & did not have to push it.

Though, it was perfectly normal yday - no sign of anything similar. Hope it stays the same way & hope that experience was a freak rare occurance

Yes. Could be the case of brake overheating due to prolonged Engine Braking on downhill

VP and F red Linea onwers,

Today i saw a brand new Flamenco red Linea with temp numbers and a family sitting inside (maybe they were bringing the car after delivery) and boy oh boy never seen so much shine on a red Linea.

I swear, dont know what paint protectio coating he got or if its the effect of paint being done at new fiat paintshop but the shine was way too awesome.
I was in Scorpio, if would have been in Linea would have stopped and asked him if he got any coating done?
If anyone gets to witness new Linea being painted at Fiat paintshop espeically in red colour, do tell me if really there is a diff or that man must have done some polishing.
What a beauty..

After looking at awsome red color on Punto, I was always suspecting that Linea colours would also be changed in new batches of Linea. Punto colors have deep gloss. If thats the case we initial Linea-owners are llike this

BTW, another Saturday. Another chance of my Linea to display her Multiple Personality Disorder. Another drive with 16.1 kmpl FE (100% AC ON), of course @ 50 kmph avg speed
Yday night while going back hom, it gave me FE of 7 kmpl @ 16 kmph avg speed. But today being Saturday, its my day !!

coolboy, the gloss is due to paint protection / polishing. most probably he has done the waxoyl treatment. tata has a tie up with wuerth, waxoyl and 3M for paint protection and surface polishing. waxoyl is not taken by many as it costs about 1000 more than 3M. even dealers dont push waxoyl as their margin is lesser with waxoyl than 3M

Amit, sorry to say that the Linea doesnt deserve to be like this.

Please, get the logo for one last time (my god, is there an option to get it insured ?). The sticker spoils the whole look of your beauty.

dude, blue color on the sticker doesn't look good. maybe a silver&red sticker would look good.
Although the playboy sticker looks kinda cool

But again, whats the point. You can't drive with a sticker forever na :(

Yes. I also thought so. Blue color is spoiling it. The generous look is compromised.

No, she won't be without Logo forever. I'm looking for a decent temporary solution only till monsoon lasts as there will be times I won't be able to put covers on & in that case even if I purchase logo right now, it'll be gone the next day.

I've 3-4 smalled playboy images in Red 2 of which I can use on Blue or I'll have to 'silver out" the Blue color !!
