Compared to older model, this one is much better. In long drives, 3 people in rear may not be very comfortable. Short drives, it is fine.

I did see new SX4 ZXi AT at Chowgule showroom in Pune. It looks fantastic. The 16" alloys look so well on the overall design.

Interiors - backseat "hump" is now not so much as in the old gen. Still not very comfortable for three adults on long journeys though. My Indica seats three adults better than that one I think because of that hump. Backseat head/leg room - awesome. Best among the other cars I am TD'ing. Front door pockets smallish in comparison to the Fiesta I TDed last week.

Visibility and driver seating position - Awesome. Nothing to beat this one. I felt as if I am in driver seat of Volvo bus the way things were visible from that seat. High seating, perfect steering grip. The A-pillar may still be problematic in tight corners I feel. Would be clear when I TD this.

Overall cockpit ergonomics and feel - Fantabulous. I was thinking all the while Jazz has the best feeling in this dept, ZXi beats Jazz with handsome margin.

Pricing - OTR Pune 830+L for ZXi MT, 903L for ZXi AT. I think thats reasonable and VFM package.

How to negotiate for discounts on the new SX4

I am not sure if this should have started as a new thread. Just felt like this was the appropriate thread to post my message.

I am tentatively looking at buying the new SX4 ZXi AT with leather. However, since this is very new to the market, is there any possibility of negotiating with the dealer for discounts/freebies, etc? If yes, what are the things that I can have a bargaining session for? When I spoke to the nearest dealer (Popular Automobiles), they gave me an impression that they will add at no extra cost, sun control for the vehicle. Can I ask for an additional 3rd year dealer warranty for free? Or should it be more like replacing the JK tyres for some higher calibre tyre (if not Michelin, pls. suggest which ones are feasible for the dealer)?

Your input will be highly appreciated. I am genuinely in need of assistance.

Thanks.

3000 KM Update

Its close to 4 months and I have completed 3000 KM in my SX4. (Mods: please update the title)

Most of the drive was in City with one long drive to native. As you all know it is a well behaved car in Highways and decent one in City.

FE returned is 14.8 in Highway with 100% AC on and 11.3 in City (latest one) with 50% AC on in B2B traffic (tankful method)

Likes:
GC, Decent FE, Solid build, Good driveability, Execllent Seats, Superb AC .. (I can go on...)

Dislikes:
- Rattles - Minor rattles from LHS door and RHS A Pillar. Took the vehicle thrice to service center, but it is still there. Its very minor but I am super sensitive to rattling noices.
- Gear shifting - It is not falling to the slot correctly. Especially in 1st and 2nd.
- Clutch - There is a judder in first gear
- A pillar blindspot - Though I can manage the same now, at times it is getting bit tough in a sharp right turn

I will be going for the 2nd service next month and hope to clear out rattling, clutch issues.

Otherwise I am very happy about it and planning to go for a long drive during the holidays.

One question to the other owners: How about rattling in other competitor vehicles, is it not at all there or that people don't care about it? Just wondering is it a Maruti phenomenon. I haven't driven an old Citi, verna or Linea recently to judge and hence the question. What's your honest response?
