@nairrk, my hands are crossed for that release to happen with ford
yesterday i went with my friend to hyundai showroom as he was keen to buy a Accent, there i had a first hand look on the Verna Petrol and to my utter surprise the car is costing 7.84 OTR, it is quite expensive for a car without Airbags and with my height of 6'3" it was very difficult to adjust on the rear seats,
with my height only the three sedan cars offered to accomodate me Honda City --> SX4 --> Fiesta

Thats what I told you earlier.
You have got more than a month to make final decision, till then you keep on finding out more and more details from the market.

May be if you are lucky, you may get a upgraded version from Ford.
We cannot anticipate, in todays competitive market, how soon a manufacturer is to going to upgrade their product to attract mor buyers.

All these features are expected to be available in the 2010 World Fiesta which will probably become available here sometime in 2011. All manufacturers have announced a price hike in Jan, so even if these features are added in Jan 2010, the price hike will be substantial.

In my car, the only thing I would have liked to have is steering mounted audio controls.

Not sure about Lucknow. But there must be one in Delhi definitely.

Is it for sure that there will be a price hike in fiesta as well in Jan 2010 or is it just anticipated?
the RTO in lucknow has already gone up by almost double in last month and now a raise of Ex showroom will add to my lose only rather than getting benefited by buying a New Year Model

The car dealers normally give more discount in the month of december to show the sales record before year end. Such discount may not be availalable during January. And if they get any indication that the prices are going to be increased, then they will play the game accordingly.

So you have to see what is the benefit (discount/freebies) being offered by the dealer for december sales.?

Alternatively, you can have a deal with the dealer that booking can be confirmed before end december( with all discounts/freebies as of a decemebr delivery), but you need the car registered only in January 2010.
So in RC the car purchased/registered in Jan 2010?

Think it - you still have plenty of time in hand

Incidentally that was the 500th Post of this thread. What better person to post here than the man who started it all himself!
Well done, NairRk! This is one of my favourite threads on team-bhp!!

Just anticipated. No one knows for sure. But Euro 4 norms come into effect next year and the current 1.6 and 1.4 will have to be upgraded. So even if there isn't
a hike in Jan, we can definitely expect a hike in Apr.

My logic is simple as far as buying in Dec or Jan is concerned. If you plan to keep the car for 5-6 years, buy in Dec. If you plan to sell in 3 years, buy in Jan. But keep in mind that you can expect massive discounts in Dec.

This technique will not work in my place as my RC has the car manufacturing date as well. The month and the year is printed.

Let's add some spice now.

WHO is going to be brave and adventurous to order this?????

Diesel Tuning Box for Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi 68 PS-BHP / 160 Nm by CHIP Express™

I would have bought it eyes closed if I owned a diesel! Oh, the joys of chipping a diesel!! :-(

EDIT: SHipping is cheap @ Rs. 2500.

Agree on warranty; I've experienced in my cusin's 1.6sxi that the 15inch wheels & tyres don't give a responsive steering that normal sxi gives with 14inch wheels. I beleive the 'S' has a re-tuned steering to suit 15inch alloys. Also the dealer said 'S' has a different steering rack than normal fiesta.

92 BHP and 212 NM of torque does getting sound yummy. Let's talk Unni into getting this.

Are there any performance mods available for the 1.6?

Utsav's site mentions number plates fitted in a frame so that there are no screws visible. Does anyone know how these look & how much they cost?

The frame won't look good on the Fiesta sir, since the patti is already present on top of the plate at the rear, and the front looks butch with a smaller no. plate upfront!
