Fiesta Delivered.

Please move name from "Booked" to "Car Delivered"

Pics and report later. Quick one - There's a very very minor dent on the bonnet above the front grill. Pointed it out to the dealer, he promptly offered to replace the whole bonnet tomorrow No drama, excellent behaviour from Chennai Ford. Rarity in today's world.

But it's not a very noticable dent (I noticed because of T-BHP instincts). And you know what? My Ikon had a similar one when I took delivery of it as a used car. So wifey feels that it's a good coincidence and I also tend to feel the same. Don't ask me for the picture because it won't show. So it really doesn't matter right?

MY HEART FELT THANKS FOR FELLOW T-BHPIANS FOR THE WEALTH OF INFORMATION AND VOLUNTARY ASSISTANCE PROVIDED WHENEVER NEEDED IN THE COURSE OF THIS PURCHASE. APPRECIATE YOUR TIME AND EFFORT.

Congrats kiku. My Fiesta had a tiny scratch on the door as well on the delivery day. They themselves pointed it out to me and fixed it the next day. So how was the drive back home?

gsachin21@ I don't have much understanding of alloys and all but initially I was also planning to put 'S' alloys for my ZXI but when I did a bit research on TBHP then I came to know that there is some PSD funda (or something like that don't remember exactly) because of which one should not replace 14' with 15' alloy. This is not threaten you but check alloy section where BHP gurus can provide more input.

I fitted 'S' spoiler and yes they do paint it as it comes in black color by default. The price which your dealer quoted is too much as I remember that my dealer said it cost somewhere around 8K as I asked him to put it as free accessory.

The regular Fiesta spoiler is around 8K. The 'S' sports spoiler is around 12K. If you have a pic of your spoiler, we can confirm if it's regular or sports.

If you have got only a pen-drive, then the best bet is to buy a mp3 player which can play music from pen drives (you can walk into any sony/samsung or computer electronics store - price will range from 1000/- for cheap chinese stuff. However, a branded one like sony etc I think can be had for <3K)

The 3.5 stereo cable can be bought for 100-300/-. Go for the gold-plated once which are of better quality. Look for at least 1.5 to 2 meter long cable so that rear seat passenger can have the mp3 player and can control the same from the back.

One end of the stereo cable will go into the AUX-in port and another end to headphone/earphone connection socket in whichever audio player (mobile/laptop/mp3 player etc) you are using.

Sometimes, mostly on mobiles, the headphone socket is 2.5 mm. For this you can buy the 2.5 to 3.5 converter (See the 2nd picture), again for <100 bucks from any computer electronics store.

Once you have these, your kids can seat at the back with the mp3 player/mobile at the back and listen to whatever music they want while you concentrate on driving;-}

You will be lucky to get a good FM transmitter since most of these are cheap chinese ones and needs to be plugged into the 12V socket..Last year I purchased one and everytime the fuse will blow up. Also, there will be interference if you are near some other cars using similar stuff and you will not get good quality music / proper stereo effects from the speakers.

Since you have a pen drive, so I assume you will be using a laptop/desktop to transfer the mp3s. You can also look at copying the mp3 files on a CD-RW disc (costs 30-50 bucks and can be erased/rewritten many times) - one CD will hold >100 files. The sound quality will be the best here. Only drawback is selecting/navigating specific songs thru the music system is a pain.

Hope this helps.
Yesterday i confirmed a FM Transmitter, the person told me it is costing 1k and the brand is that of HCL, not a bad if it is branded.

If you have an iPod or any MP3 player, the best option is to buy the stereo cable and connect the ipod/mp3 player to the aux port with this cable. The sound quality will be far superior than the fm transmitter, and without interference.

FM transmitters are meant for those car audio systems where no aux input is there.

No, something wrong - it should not have been like you said.
Suggest take the car to the dealer/service engineer and if they are not giving satisfactory reply/reason for this, write to Ford immediately.

See Gilead's Ownership thread/FrankMehta's Garage Gallery for the Sports Spoiler picture.

Checkout ashishgandhi's thread for the Non-Sports Spoiler.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attach...um-spoiler.jpg

The sports spoiler is somewhat more angled downwards at both ends whereas the non-Sports one is like a quarter-moon shaped. Also, once fitted, it seems to me the sports version is higher compared to the other one.

Take it to the dealer immediately..
He will try to convince you that rusting is not covered under warranty.
But persisit with him that its a new car !!!

I had faced a rusting problem in my brand new ANHC sometime back.
The dealer initially tried to palm it off ..

But a little persuasion and authoritativeness from my side finally forced him to do the job under warranty..
I have already written to Ford about this as this has happened for the second time. Was just wondering if anyone else has got a chance to look below the seat to check if this is happening with their seats as well.

my car is 3 months old now.
Checked those places but nothing that sort of thing (rust) there.
Rusting normally occures if the area gets wet somehow?

Yes you are right, once you switch from 14" 175x65 tyres to 15" 195x55, you would need to have adjustment being made in the ECM of the car. This needs to be done else your odo meter will not show the correct readings and you also run the risk of ECM getting damaged. I have got these setting done at Ford dealer to ensure peace of mind.
