Frank, fantastic find! I had a nice time gloating over it.
A couple of quotes from the article.
Quote:
The Ford Fiesta S is the closest thing there is to a front-wheel-drive BMW.
|
I agree. :thumbs up

Allow the Fiesta S motor to lug from a very low engine speed and the Ford consumes fuel at a fair lick. But drive it with a little more gusto, keep the momentum going and this motor will give you good fuel economy and performance.
|
So all Fiesta owners looking for better economy, start ripping your cars like the way it's meant to be. :D
And another thing. Their long termer (~14K kms) has had zero maintenance costs and zero faults till now. I suppose that's good news for all of us.
Frank, they say the stock audio is EARGASM!! Did they steal that from you? I wonder what they would think of your non-stock audio then! lol

But definitely the ABS is effective and good in such situation and you will find the difference (You will see the car stops on the dot without any slippery). |
I have heard the noise every single time the ABS has been called into action. (It's a jerky version of the noise one hears when the car is standing at a signal and the brake is released and held intermittently.)

Dayummmn! I was thinking of the same thing! I might as well sue them! I have a right to anything that has a 'GASM' suffixed to it. Orgasm included! HAHAHHAH!

I wonder too! They call the stock ICE powerful and think it has impressive punch and clarity. I agree with them on the clarity and loudness part. But it lacks in bass. Even for stock ICE.
@frankmehta
Those who are listening only to the stock ice (without any upgradation), d they can feel a great sound (ofcourse not big bass support). However you and shajufx upgraded the ice with 'sub' etc will definitely feel the stock ice not that attractive.
I too feel the stock ice is good but would loved to have some more Bass:D
I too had a S with attached XI in it

Tht's my favourite. Might as well add that to my signature:)
@Kishore
What happened to the rubber burning smell in your car?
Did you check with the Ford service people - Hope now the problem is sorted out?
Received below tips from Ford workshop (when my car was taken for 1st service) regading maintenence of Fiesta (Probably for all Ford cars):
General Vehicle Care
=
Everyday Check
* Operation of extrerior and interior lights
* Replace fused or dim bulbs
=
Weekly check
* Engine oil level (A & B)
* Break fluid level (C)
* Windshield washer fluid level (D)
* Tyre Pressure - as per Owners guide
=
Once a month check
* Coolant level (E)
* Power steering fluid level (F)
* Ensure battery terminals are clean (G)
* Operation of handbrake
Operation Tip
= Ford encourages you to use IFTEX petrol aditive in the ration 1:1000ml
(eg. 10ml for 10 litres of petrol)
= For better fuel economy, change gears within correct vehicles speed.
= Use the accelerator pedal gently and change to 5th Gear as quickly
as possible
= Maximise A/C performance by switching onto recirculation mode.
Use the temperature control knob for comfortable in-car temperature.
= Use A/C for a minimum of 5 minutes every weeek.
:thumbs up

This in a Fiesta? Yeah right!! :D
Nairsaab, the SA told me there is a software update during the first service. Do you know what they update?
Guys,
need to get headlamps bulbs. The right side one is conked off, and late at nights, I get no respect due to the same.
Being a responsible citizen, I do not want to get the 90/100W lamps and want to stick to stock, but had a few questions:
- White lamps or regular?
- What brand? Philips Xtreme Power? Osram Night vision? others?
Please let me know, as this needs to be done pronto!
This would be the second accessory for the car, in addition to the tints, so am very excited.
The bigger ones would come after, as everything else is stock, except for the crappy tires.
P.S.: yest, on the way back, an Innova and me were in the front of a red light and took off together. We kept up till about the mid-third gear, after which he got an edge, and became rash, at which point I cooled it. I may like fast cars and the occasional ripping, but there is a fine line between fast driving and rash driving, something many dont understand.
Thanks!

No. I was not aware if they did any software update.?
May be because I didnt go to the dealer workshop as their boy came to my home to pick up the car and returned back after the service.:D
Nair saab and all other Fiesta Gurus,
A very happy new year !
My friend is contemplating to buy an used Fiesta with the below specs. I would request your input on the price that the car is worth of -
- Fiesta EXI
- 21000 kms on the ODO
- 1 yr 8 months - Apr 2008
- music system
- insurance valid for anther year
Let me know if any other details are required to judge the price.
Your quick inputs will be much appreciated !
later
Siva
@s3va
imo, your above post should have been posted in 'used car thread'?
(Probably MODS may shift this to other thread?)
I am not an expert in 2nd hand deals.
I hope you are talking about Petrol variant? if yes, then for a close to 2 year old
car, I think a rate of Rs.5 lakh or shade above will be a good price ?
(present show room price of a new EXI petrol is Rs.6,16,684 ? plus registration and
insurance so total will be around Rs.6.67Lakhs?)
You may get opinions from other members too
Thanks Nair.
Yes you are right, this query needs to go into the used car section. Since I was aware of this thread that had all the Fiesta members, I posted here. I shall be soon posting my query in the right section, meanwhile since this is slightly urgent I request other members also to pool in their inputs.
Its a petrol variant.
Where in Bangalore can we get spray on paint for Fiesta Platinum color. There are some paint scrathces on wing mirror and the rear bumper strip, I'm thinking it mightbe a good idea to get an aerosol paint as the dealers talk about painting whole sections instead of a touchup.
