re: Poor Man's M3 - Alpine White BMW 320d @ 110,000 KMs

You've really taken the 3 to a whole new level, looks super wicked! It would be amazing if you could write up on a separate thread on how to code the BMW step-by-step. If you could detail out every detail from where & what cable to buy (a picture of the cable too!), what software to download and install, and how to make all the mods that you have done so far - that'll be absolutely brilliant!

I'm sure most of us want to have the same set of mods - auto fold ORVMs, lane shift indicators blinking 7 times, real-time digital speed display would be my list of wishes for sure!

Thanks again, and do keep posting your updates - they really seem like a great load of info which you can't source otherwise

cheers!

What a set of classy wheels! Great taste.

Do let us know brand and cost/wheel for these. Drive safe and drive hard, buddy.

Nothing to beat the old bangle lines man. Enjoy!
265 in the rear and 235 in front is the recommended upgrade for 19 inch wheels as specified by bmw. There is I swear no rubbing at all. I know it kinda looks impossible but its the truth. All I do is turn turn and more turn, car feels very happy at turns double speed turns than a regular model!!

Thanks bro for your kind words. I also wanted to buy the last bangle edition and I kinda don't like the current 3/5.

Thanks Ace for the kind comments. The wheels are Avant Garde and cost including tyres ran to 2lac almost.

Thanks for the quick response, paaji!

Being a strict petrolhead, I am myself eyeing on an pre-worshipped Audi A4 3.2 FSI (265 BHP, 333 Nm 3.2 litre V6). Still convincing the owner to sell her to me. The first thing I will do is to upgrade the alloys and hence my question.

Here is a quick pic of the beast I am contemplating. Boy, I love the raw power of this screamer of an engine.

Well its a very nice car! expensive though. That V6 must be very awesome. When you plan on upgrading the wheels go for a wheel+suspension combo. Big wheels on a non-lowered car look really cheap. Like 17" with low profile tyres would look on and hyundai accent with raised suspension.

Also BMW wheels would suit an AUDI!! You will have to look for a AUDI wheel .

You can also look for a 325i or 330i as they are both 3 litre engines and highly tunable. It would be much cheaper than the Audi + no AWD means so much more fun.

You are right about it being expensive but don't worry, I will get it on a discounted price if I ever will!

I think it depends, my civic with 17" and stock suspension look just fine. An accent will look odd though!

Haha... these wheels are BBS replicas, so they will suit any damn car!

Again, correct about the fun factor of beemers (being RWD). I myself will prefer BMW over any Audi but I may pull off a great deal with this particular 3.2. Also, it was an CBU import fully loaded and my prefered color combo! So...

Well if its a bargain you are in luck!

Well civic has already very low GC and 17" look nice. 19" would have looked bad on my car If I hadn't lowered.

Very true sir ji.. but AUDI doesn't deserve replicas. Go for the real deal!!

3.2 is a very quick car. Do let me know how your deal goes!! What color are we looking at?

You know what, it just clicked me! When I am upgrading the wheels, why not get Audi R8 V10 Y spoke wheels? I am sure they will look killer. Food for thought? I am daydreaming a lot which I stop before someone knocks me off.

The color combo is Silver ex/Black in.

Hahaha... Now you are making me go for the kill.

Let's pen down how do I want my car to look once it enters into my garage.

- An Audi 3.2 (chipped/tuned)
- A nice set of gunmetal alloys
- Quad exhaust (ideally, from previous gen RS4!)
- Everything debadged with a RS badge instead of A4 on the back

I think I have turned your Beemer thread into an four rings thread! Lets talk when I have the deal done, shall we! Now, back to that awesome BMW.

Taran, amazing car! It looks almost an ///M3 for a flash of a second! Did you check out for dual exhausts? IMO the car looks pretty incomplete without it! I dont know if there is a possibility of only adding a bumper and a dummy exhaust pipe!

F355 guess the A4 3.2 should be a quattro. But still, for A4 quattro, power normally goes to front wheels and IF NECESSARY, power is sent to the back. Thats more like the cars nose stuck in a ditch/mud in the countryside.

The car will be huge fun to drive on roads! Also it will be fast on any road, snow/gravel for being quattro.
But if you are thinking of sliding sideways in to a drift, wont be great fun.

I think on Quattro cars the front rear split is 40:60 and if needed more is sent to the back or front. Upto 80% can be sent to the rear and 70% to the front or something like that.

Hi Taran. That's a wonderful looking car you have. How did you manage to get that registration number from your old car. What is the procedured followed in your RTO and if possible could you find out as per which rule in the MV Act.

Taran get a set of Lux angel eyes, it will look pretty good with your car. The angel eyes are too dim on the cars which don't have xenons.
