It's great to hear that the steering of Linea feels good even when contrasted with the Skoda Octavia RS.

I think the number plate will be a so called radium sticker. That seems to be the only way to retain to fluidity of the space at the front.
Evo, What is a radium sticker?

The speakers irritated me a bit when I changed the music from the sort of Easy Listening stuff that was playing all this while.
We've a Fiat Punto 1.3 E + at home. So, I got to agree that the speakers are not so good. Moreover, I hate to listen to rock/metal songs.

I guess that changing the speakers will improve the sound quality to a certain extent.

PS: I'm still waiting for the pictures

Luckily I had the common sense to take my car out before I literally paid the price for some tampered/knackered/flicked part on my car.Their SPECIALISED knowledge of the RS(or rather the lack of it) never ceases to amaze.Im gonna go there onlty for the TB change when the need arises.Everything else is gonna be "outsourced D.I.Y"

Radium Sticker, it`s the sticker they put on the plate. Only difference is, No Plate.

Speakers, AFAIK the HU is a 30X4 and so cant drive better speakers. I`d love to be proved wrong on this front so that I can simply upgrade.

Pics, pics , pics. Today, today, today.

Hehe. I think Skoda does a good job on giving people a thick skin. If my gf/wife ever complains that I`m not sensitive enough, Skoda is to blame (!)

Thank you evo for the info.It seems that we're in the same boat. Instead of drilling the bumper, we put a sticker instead of the registration plate in our Fiat Punto.

I feel that Fiat Linea don't posses any holes to fix the plates.

Pardon me. I don't know much about the technical aspects of the speakers and HU.

Yup. They generally drill two holes and put the plates.

Saw some Ed Hardy carpets today. Good quality. But graphics etc were very chav ish. Got a car cover, supposedly made for the Linea, but its a little small, and the bottom of the rear bumper is exposed just like ankles get exposed when people wear old socks.

Now for some pictures. Am not much of a photographer though. Ignore the date stamp. I couldn't be bothered to reset it.

  • A poorly designed seat belt height adjuster as compared to the normal ones.

But seat fabric is top class. I never liked this velvety kind very much, but this really feels good and has some neatly done fabric bits that break the monotony.
  • The boot opens via a button on the Central Console as opposed to a fiddly lever near the seat.It would have been great if the fuel flap also opened from the central console like the RS.
  • Dials look absolutely brilliant. The retro look, the Serif fonts, the use of colours, the way the needles move. All of it.
  • Staying Alive playing on the good to touch, bad to hear stereo. Note the absence of the Blaupunkt logo as compared to the older Lineas. (It maybe Fiat saying something here, or just the ramblings of an unnecessarily observant bhpian!)

The title scrolls around the display but the MyCar display near the clocks dont show the track name but just the folder number and the track number.

Pics - Exteriors

I really like the Chrome trim. I`m not much of a Chrome liker in cars, but the Linea looks great with it. I dont like it in the Cruze since its a more contemporary design, but with the classic curves used in the Linea, it does go well.

I gather that the Chrome garnish on the rear quarter glass has a mind of its own, and sometimes doesnt think that the car and itself are made for each other. Got to be careful about that.

I thought of removing the model designation and the Linea badge from the rear and keeping just the gloriously red Fiat logo, but decided against.

With a word like Emotion written there, you dont feel too bad, say especially when compared to insipid ones like LX, GXi, S, V.

congrats evo... and welcome to the 'big bad world of fiat!!!

didn't realise that the clowns at fiat decided not to add alloys onto the emotion variant... at this price point, should have been standard.

but heigh ho! 'tis a lovely engine, so you can't complain eh?

stay safe and drive sane bud,
ak

Haha. Well, the alloys are there on the petrol emotion. In the diesel its part of the pack.

Price? I think its brilliant, alloys or no alloys.

It seems to me that a plastic lid/cover near the seatbelt is missing in your car.So, here is the picture of the seatbelt of my car (Fiat Punto).

Fiat Linea Diesel 2010. Ownership Report.-dsc01170.jpg

And you need to set the date on the camera, I guess. This picture was taken in the year of 2007 as per the date imprint

Waiting for more pictures brother.
