Re: Toyota Etios - Booking to Delivery 45 Days

Congrats on your new possession. This is the first Etios on T-Bhp

For 600 K you got yourself a Toyota. Even though the quality of plastics look bad, i am sure they will last long and do not disintegrate with time. Enjoy your ride.

Looking forward to a detailed initial ownership report.

Re: Toyota Etios - Booking to Delivery 45 Days

Congratulations on the car, this is now undoubtedly the most practical, VFM sedan in all of India.
Don't bother about a few things like plastic or seat quality, the important thing is that this is a car that will give you decades of hassle-free low-cost ownership.

BTW, is the G variant the one with the red seats, could we get some pics uploaded

This bit is debatable as most of the components are 'made in india' category and hence very much prone to sounds that we're habitual of hearing from a vehicle above 3 yrs of age

Congrats though for Etios, definitely its a proper VFM machine. Best bit would be the engine, hopefully it would last longer than the interiors.

Awaiting pics and an ownership experience.

Re: Toyota Etios - Booking to Delivery 45 Days

Congrats on your new car.
Etios sure is a VFM car for the price. I totally agree with you the quality of plastics, a little extra cost in better plastics would have gone a long way for Toyota.

Re: Toyota Etios - Booking to Delivery 45 Days

Congrats on the 1st Etios on T-Bhp. The plastics being described are 'horrible' do not go well with Toyota. Toyota is aware that people will pay more for badge value (case in point - Honda City). They could have put in some decent quality plastics and fabrics and increased the price a bit. People would still Que up to buy the car, as after all its a Toyota !

PS - What surprises me is how brand name can change everything. Some of the comments above are forgiving the Etios for the 'horrible plastics', while some other brands () are rejected only on the basis of 'bad' and not 'horrible' plastics.

Re: Toyota Etios - Booking to Delivery 45 Days

Congrats Regularindian on owning the first Etios on Team Bhp. Nice to hear that you got the car in 45 days where everyone was expecting a delayed delivery.
I read that you are not happy with the interior “plastic quality”. Can you please elaborate on some of the plastic quality attributes which you did not like for example feel/texture, fit & finish, flimsy/ hard etc.
Good that you refused the dealer’s pitch on having Teflon coating.
Do post in some pictures and let us your ongoing ownership experience.

Re: Toyota Etios - Booking to Delivery 45 Days

Congrats on the Etios.

I had a look at the Toyota Etios in person. The dealer had brought the car for demo to our office. The plastics are not that bad. IMO, they are better than Manza. Overall, the look and feel of the car is very good. The red seats are in the V and VX models.

Re: Toyota Etios - Booking to Delivery 45 Days

Well to me plastic quality means
1. A smooth and shiny surface
2. A color that is pleasing to the eye and in line with the rest of the interiors
3. A surface that does not move or pinch when applied force on
4. A dashboard that feels solid and gives an assuring sound when u punch it, u know the plastic thickness with the thud!
5. As I compare it with the plastics of my 6 yr old Baleno, and a new DZire, the feel of the environment.

Congrats on being the first to start ownership thread on T-BHP.
Please help us by telling whether a person of 5'6" be able to sleep in comfort on rear bench without slumping down? It is important for long journeys.

Nice one. All Toyota dealerships can display this in their showrooms and service centres so that the customers are informed and don't complain

Congrats on the car!
First Etios on Team-BHP and the delivery in 45 days? Lucky you!
My uncle had booked one and they have promised to deliver the car in May.
How do you rate the stock music system/speakers?
And, color?

Re: Toyota Etios - Booking to Delivery 45 Days

As Regularindian has said regarding Etios be a taxi will be true in max 2 years time. My contact in Toyota told me that once the production of the Diesel Engine starts in Bangalore. They are thinking of developing a version similar to Indicab for Taxis which will be bare bone and at that time it will be favorite for the taxi wallas.

Re: Toyota Etios - Booking to Delivery 45 Days

Congrats, how about a pic or too of the dash which you so abhor ? Yes, i even cannot fathom why they would compromise on something as a seat fabric or the boot mat. Only your detailed pics can help us here.
