Re: My Gleaming Black Skoda Fabia 1.2 TDi CR

Congrats on the buy and you got your self one great black beauty

Despite all the negative things written about Skoda, I have a soft spot for all their cars and the layout of the interiors especially.

Personally, I would have preferred the Petrol anyday. Diesels always take a back seat for me

Thank you M00M.

Yeah even i had TD'd 1.6 fabia,It was my first choice as well.
But then i felt it was a bit too calm for all that 105 horses under it's hood.May be few of them was a bit composed and apparently not doing their job

Jokes apart,Yeah.. i agree with you,its indeed a great piece of machine.

haha yeah maybe some of the horses have become lazy. so in comparing the 1.6 with the 1.2 diesel would you prefer the diesel or the petrol ? and whats the mileage you get tank to tank ?

Thanks for the detailed response. Some of the misses are quite glaring. But then, you still got a great car!

Well, good things come in small packages. And for Bangalore traffice, a car of Fabia's size does make great sense.

Hope this is a reflection on improving A.S.S by Skoda.
This is exactly what I keep saying that nowadays I do see lots of New Fabias around Pune. Are they really improving on A.S.S or its just unstoppable Skoda lovers wanting to own one at any cost?

Although I'm more interested in petrols but our beloved Gov. forcing people to buy more and more diesels! Who knows they may have signed some pact with SIAM to increase diesel variant sells, kidding. Mileage

Re: My Gleaming Black Skoda Fabia 1.2 TDi CR

@ iSpoke: Yes with the ever increasing fuel prices it is indeed a concern and thats why my question. Interestingly HPCL recently commented it it still incurring a loss of 2 rs/litre and they just raised the petrol prices, infact internationally with egypt moving forward crude is coming down and i hope they lower the price in India too and not let it just stuck at 61rs/litre. However the running per day or per month should also justify buying a diesel car when you can buy a powerful rev happy petrol. I am now trying to figure out the After Sales Service of the dealer so as to justify going in for the car, do not want to be stuck with a bad serviced good product. I think german cars are much than the koreans and the japanese but they need to get their maintenance and service costs in order and not treat Indians lightly.

Till date i have done 4 Full to full refillings.
Decided to use shell diesel for fisrt few thousands of kilometers.(No scientific reason to back this up, but just a feeling that shell diesel would be unadultered.Meanwhile it cost about 8rs more than Govt. diesel )

First filling - 16Km/L (90%Bangalore Traffic+10%open roads+100%AC)
second Filling -16.3Km/L (80%Bangalore Traffic+20%open roads+100%AC)
Third Filling - 16.6 (80%Bangalore Traffic+20%open roads+100%AC)
Fourth Filling - 16.7(80%Bangalore Traffic+20%open roads+100%AC)

I havent taken her out for one proper long drive still.(would do that very soon and post the Mileage figures).
But looks like mileage is improving slowly as the car is being run in .
(Can some diesel gurus in this forum clarify whether this observation is correct ?? )

Ok as per Vinayak Skoda Invoice
Road tax and handling - 1,13,612
Road tax in bangalore for this class of vehicle is 15.4% of ex-showroom price (6,72,805 * 15.4% = 1,03,612)

So a cool 10K is Handling . I really fail to understand what exactly do they handle with this amount.Few hundres for forms and fees at RTO and 300 Rs for Numberplate.Even in worst case scnario i cant fins an explanation for 9K.
Sale Rep: Hi hi...Sir thats required.
Me:But why?Give me explanation.
Sales rep:Hi hi..Thats like tha sir.you know na..blah blah blah

I feel there is no point in .
Some one at RTO office richer by 9K of my hardearned money.

Can some wise soul throw soome light into how much it actually costs for RTO formalities ?

Re: My Gleaming Black Skoda Fabia 1.2 TDi CR

@pajero4me: thanks for the update. yes normally average does increase once the running in is done. im still evaluating my options in no hurry so lets wait and see. if i do get the fabia will let you know so we can exchange notes. thanks again.

on the rto handling charges i remember that when i had bought a Honda City in 2003 which sadly i dont have anymore, i had done the rto registration on my own and had saved about 8000 rupees as handling charges. it mostly goes in the dealers pocket.

Re: My Gleaming Black Skoda Fabia 1.2 TDi CR

Congratulation Pajero on your Fabia.

Car looks awesome and nice pictures.

How many rear AC vents does it has?? Is it throwing some good air?? I see that vent is so small that it would accumulate dust on it, does it cool only your feet??

I see that discount part is missing in your price breakup, please update.

15.4% road tax is way too much for a small car!!!

Re: My Gleaming Black Skoda Fabia 1.2 TDi CR

Congratulations on the Car, its sweet & wicked (due to the black color) at the same time.

How I wish that Skoda came with all bells & whistles in their newer (fresher) models along with the required engine change.

It isn't cheap even now, but you got to pay for Quality.

Manually adjustable ORVM's and no rear-wash wipe are a deal breaker IMHO.

Wishing you miles happiness with your prized possession
