Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Very comprehensive review sid, enjoyed reading and it covers every minute details of the car. Lets see how Maruti service centers will be able to take care of this car's service needs.
I along with my brother in law are going for its TD tomorrow, lets see how it impresses us.

@ eddy, Maruti has targeted at 200-250 units per month.

PS - Shouldn't this thread be placed under Official car reviews ?

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Looks smashing in silver with those alloys. I really like the view from the rear, especially the twin exhaust pipes. Overall seems to be a decent effort from Maruti considering its their first real foray into the segment here.
Will this be competing with the Accord/ Civic?

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Nice review, the design is a bit bulbous, the front looks ordinary-too sx4ish, the back is better. The price is difficult to digest not because its a Suzuki but simply because it doesn't give me the feel of a 18-20 lakh car, 14 lakhs would be more fitting.

No point cribbing about that since we seem to have accepted paying 60 to sometime 100% more than these cars are sold elsewhere,

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Great review. 200 Kizashis is very very optimistic on MSIL's part - I think they'd struggle to sell those many in a year. Although I didn't test it - I saw the interiors at the Suzuki showroom at Phoenix Mills. They are definitely on par with some of the more marquee brands - but I don't see myself spending that kind of dough on a Suzuki - heck, I am reluctant to spend that much on a Skoda too.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Great review. The interiors looked so so so Ford-ish (Tauras/Fusion US). Right from the cylindrical dials to the switch placements. Looks like a very good car from MUL. Push button start is a nice feature provided you keep the keys in your pocket and not in the car or anywhere else. All in all its got all a 16 L tag can demand.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

The car is simply overpriced by approx 4 lakh rupees.

Awesome Review Sid, I read the Kizashi review in ACI, Feb Issue & man it looks like a minnow in front of your review.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Nice write up Sid. The absence of chrome in the car is refreshing, but from the photos, the looks are quite bland. Hopefully it looks better in flesh.

Read in an article that the response to Kizashi had beaten company expectations.

The Tribune, Chandigarh, India - Business

Quote:
Although Mayank Pareekh, Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), MSIL was not forthcoming on the number of bookings received for Kizashi, company officials said the bookings had filled the supply schedule till May. Deliveries for Kizashi start next month.

Pareekh said: “Bookings for Kizashi have beaten company expectations.” Another company official said that MSIL had received over 350 bookings for Kizashi. By industry standards, this is a good figure. MSIL could thus go a long way in establishing a name in the big league as a more evolved car manufacturer.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Super review Sid!

my exact thought on pricing! MSIL would have achieved 200-250 if they had priced less by 4-5 lakhs. But i guess since it CBU, even MSIL cant help much i believe. I hope it wont flop like Grande Vitara.

Showroom prices you have mentioned are ex-showroom Delhi, imagine on road price in Bangalore :(

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Awesome review Sid It was like experiencing the car in person. Even then I donot think that it would be possible to take note of all the details that you have posted.

Any idea regarding ground clearance and whether you had problems with speed breakers?

Cheers and keep it going.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Excellent review. Time for a sidindica.in.

Maruti, why a CVT? Couldn't find anything better? And a EPS in a 20L (sporty) sedan?

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

An excellent review Sid. A few of questions though:
How does the CVT compare to the other AT's [DSG]?
How is the headroom in the rear for 6' + people? I know its a drivers car but in my opinion there would be a considerable amount of people wanting to sit in the rear.
Are there any gizmos for the backbenchers?

And, what would be your pick between this and a similarly priced variant of Accord? I am not counting the Superb as A.S.S. is still a no match for it.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Excellent review Sid. 5 STAR rating.

I used to wonder most/many days after the launch of the Kizashi as to why no test drive reviews in team bhp by anyone - i.e GTO, you, Rehan, etc. Then read about lack of Test Drive Cars availability at dealerships and assumed the possible reasons.

Thanks for sharing the detailed pictorial review with your analysis and findings, am sure will help people who are considering these cars.

Thanks to TBHP - have never seen such detailed analysis reviews anywhere else.

regards,

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Excellent review, Sid. I've rated 5 stars.

Car looks plush and classy, but it would be around 20+ lakhs OTR in Bangalore, and looks very costly for that price.

Also noticed that there's no Maruti logo on the car, just Suzuki badge at the rear

Last edited by SMK_BLR : 24th February 2011 at 10:52. Reason: Wanted to highlight it doesn't have Maruti badge anywhere.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Great review Sid.
Let's await the sales figures in April, too early to predict volumes though yearly avearge of 200 numbers seems too optimistic.

Cheers!
