You caught me dream catcher, yes i did brush paint the car myself. It used to be red. So far so good, & shades will keep changing from time to time.

And, there's so much more to explore here, do come back to the region.

He he, nice that the car pics kept you busy Dry ice.

The front portion is of no trouble in city roads at daytime. But at night i need to be careful.

Have to clear the front though in case i travel to the Himalayan foothills. The back is already clear. Will post new pics soon. And the front top fog lamp is being replaced by a bigger one .

Beyond Kyrdemkulai Zero point

One can drive here peacefully without seeing a single soul for a while, which is unfortunately rare in the Assam plains.

Reachead lake no 2 without any problem as the Google maps had the right directions. But as planned did not cover the entire lake circle due to bad road condition. Instead took the main road to the left upto the first busty or settlement. The third drive shall be the point beyond this area to a riverbed and dam.

The shopowner at the busty allowed me to take a picture. There were not many people or customers here he said. The only ones other than few villagers are the electricity board officials who doesn't stay there much and get stuff from their own canteen. The officials keep their family in Shillong and visit once in a while, he added.

Shillong break

Just back from a family trip to Shillong. The weather was real bad as it kept raining almost the whole day all throughout our stay.

The road condition is good but one may get stuck in traffic jams anywhere which may add up hours to usual travel time. So start real early.

Stayed in Centre Point which is located in Police bazar. Rooms & bathroom were clean and offer an impressive breakfast spread. Had ordered just a soup from the hotel restaurent through room service and liked it 100%. Would recommend the place to Bhpians.

Warning: All restaurents in the Police bazar area down shutters at 9 sharp. So have your dinner or get packing by 8.30pm. We tried two places, Hong Kong restaurent for Chinese and Bombay Bites for Indian.

There's a speciality shop dealing in camping and fishing gear nearby, called Lallooo & Co which all Bhpians should check out.

Could not take any pictures other than the one here near Nongpoh where we had stopped to get some achar and banana.

San, how long did you take for the drive from Jorabat to Shillong?

Did you see good progress with the road widening? Chances of finishing before the monsoons begin?

The Centre Point hotel - isn't that an expensive hotel? I think I have stayed in it many years ago. Has car parking?

HvK the road widening work is progressing super fast in Meghalaya compared to super slow in Assam. As of now they are cutting / clearing the earth & stones and filling up required areas with soil. Due to the rains some portions have become muddy but does not hamper traffic in any way. But for the last roller to give the finishing touch we must wait till 2013 atleast.

The road condition from Khanapara roundabout upto Jorabat is terrible and prone to huge jam unless crossed early morning. The traffic actually moves slow upto Burnihat bridge where there is another jam for the trucckers toll gate. As i drove within 40-50 mostly it took me about 3.5 hrs Jorabat-Shillong.

I got a room at 2,520 all inclusive for two with breakfast & parking at Centre Point. Chose the place as wife and kid was along and needed to stay close to Police bazar market. Otherwise had checked a lodge in Jowai road near Assam House point which offered small but clean room for 1,200.

The following errors occurred when this message was submitted:
1. "fordday has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her."

That is the problem for which i could not reply to your PM.

You need to change a setting in your User CP and opt for receiving PM's.

Looking forward to meet you.
