Re: Rarest of the rare find...

Well well Fazal bhai & Fauji,

Don't know if am an Alpha Male or plain lucky, but here is what I saw in Kanha on my first safari this evening...

The Umarpaani Tigress (collar) with her 18 month old male cub

Gurgaon - Jhansi - Khajuraho - Bandhavgarh - Pench - Kanha - Bhedaghat - Gurgaon-4755.jpg

The Tigresses were very far, the sky was grey & overcast, light conditions were bad and my 80~200 lens was inadequate. Apologise for the picture quality. Badly need the 200~400 f/4.

Add that lens to your kitty soon and a sturdy bean bag as we discussed.

Great shots of the Tigers sir. That Civet looks like one cunning creature. At first I thought that it was a Mongoose, coming from a marsh and badly in need of a bath!

I see that the males of Kanha have been forewarned about the Alpha male carrying bazookas!

Love that pic sir.
And great to see you get a huge male tiger finally.
Wish you Godspeed for the last drive at Kanha.
I am so glad that your trip is going so well.

Your trip was my responsibility and i am glad that overall barring a few unexpected things, it has been a success.

I am sure you will be back to these destinations for more. The alpha males need to meet more often.

Thank you Abheek and this trip wouldn't have been possible or thinkable without your support & help at every stage. It indeed has been a great success and the unexpected add spice to the whole programme..

Even before the trip ends tomorrow, B, P & K is beckoning me again.. And Alpha Males would surely meet, if not in P then in S as in Sariska..

The portrait by Bablu is simply great. Would request you to send via email the pictures of mine taken by you or Bablu...

This travelogue wouldn't even start or be complete without this person. I owe this to him:

Bablu - A wildlife enthusiast, spotter, tracker & driver par excellance:

Wow!!!!!! Guru sir, This is amazing luck. Congratulations. I second Cooolcat. We went for two drives but were able to see only once. That was on the elephant ride. Will post the picture soon.

We missed a tiger by whisker during the drive. We could see fresh pug marks and could hear the roar in the distance but not the cat

As Ghoshda rightly said, one needs to spend days in these parks and have patience to sight them.
