You will get about 2.5-3k for the tyres. The 195/60-15 C drives will cost about 5k per tyre. Effectively you'll pay 10k for 4 tyres.

Am mainly looking at ...
- Tyre Noise
- Early wear
- Side wall damage
- And definitely - Grip on wet roads.
OR any of you have a better option (and why? !)

Upgraded the stock MRFs on my new ZDI to Yoko A drives 195/60 R15 today. The stock went for Rs 2.5k/tyre and the new ones for Rs. 4.9k. The C-drives were around 5.2-5.3K per tyre. This was the best deal that I could get in Chennai having checked with BM Lal, Lal enterprises and tyre store (Greams Road) and G.N. tyres (Sanatorium). Got them replaced at G.N tyres as it was close to my house and the rates were competitive.
Have been reading the past posts that resale for the oem mrf/goodyear is around 2.5k and new yokos a drives around 5k. An exchange for 5 tyres seems to be in the 12.5k range. Was it I who got a good deal in my swift zdi tyre exchange or have resale values gone down in 2 months?I paid a net of 7k for a 5 tyre upgrade

The C drive is a good option. the MRF ZLO is also a good option. Michelin Primacy LC is also a good option.
Read up on various reviews available in the forum and take a call.

Stock tyre trade ins: I checked at New BEL Rd Bangalore, 15" brand new Stock tyres (Swift Zxi) - 2.5K seems to be a done deal per tyre.
Yoko A Drive - negotiated down to 4.8k from 5.1k
Yoko C Drive - not yet negotiated - 5.3k.
I would like to upgrade my oe jk 14in after 68k kms in my vdi. What about 195/65R14 and 205/60R14. What are the pros and cons. Experts please comment...

Planning to change my tyres as well. Currently running 195/65/R14 ( GY venturas) in a 5 year old car. Plan to keep the car for 3 to 4 years more. I have a swift LDI and love doing the short turbo bursts ! My GY venturas never failed me in such cases. However the road noise was really high in these tyres !
Now I have the following options :-
Michelin XM2 - 185/70/R14
Yoko A Drives - 185/70/R14 or 195/65/r14
Given my riding preference which ones are better ? Higher Grip lesser Road Noise. Mileage is secondary. Also if I go from 195/65/r14 to 185/70/r14 will the "comfort" aspect be noticebaly higher ?

I upgraded to Yokohama a drives from jk tornado and defintely love the comfort,grip and low noise.
But your case is like opposite. Any reason for downsizing?
Yoko's are 500 rs cheaper per pc and i was told difference would not be much. But xm2 is surely more soft, hence silent and grips well. If you can spend that extra money go for it. Else Yokohama is just fine and can last 50k

Yes I was planning to downsize as the rise was really rough with GY venturas. I really needed a smoother ride and was wondering whether downsizing will help !

After much confusion I have upgraded my Swifty's tyres yesterday. I had a slight confusion whether to go for 185/70R14 Michelin XM2 or Yoko 195/65R14. Finally decided to go for Yokohama 195/65R14 A drives.Cost per tyre was 4485/-.I loved the construction of the tyre and also tread pattern.
Installed new valves, did the balancing and alignment also. Total cost 18900/-(set of four tyres). Initial impressions are positive, the car holds on to the road well, silent. Steering feels a tad tight but directional changes are more reassuring. My OE JK's lasted me 69000kms. Hope to repeat the feat again...:) Overall value for money product...:thumbs up
