I was satisfied with the cost, considering I checked online and it was showing ₹11,000 per wheel.

I checked out HRS brand as well, which was on display. The wheel looked good and he mentioned that it's a Taiwanese brand. He said Momo wheels are better quality being Italian.

But does ₹8800 per tyre seem good enough?

The guy was good. He seemed to be well educated and had a good knowledge of his work. He nicely explained the sizes and everything and what works on my White+Black car.

I'm thinking of biting the bullet, and getting the better one available, since wheels and tyres are essential and if you mess that up, its risking with your life.

Thank you for your response!

Momo brand may be Italian but they too are manufactured in taiwan only. Tires do seem quite costly, maybe call a few other Michelin dealers for prices or search online for a reference. I had found offline prices 10-15% cheaper when i was searching.

1.Do check out alloy wheels by Plati, Neo, Onyx, etc. They are much cheaper and have been in the Indian market for a very long time and have many replica designs of MOMO including the Revenge series.

2. Insure that the width (J) is in accordance with tyre width and check if you have to install hub rings. As far as I know the Momo wheels come with Momo hub rings.

3. Consider 16inch alloys of City VX/ZX and WRV.

  1. Checked them out. The Revenge series looks so good, I can't think of anything else, so I guess it is what it is. I don't know much about Indian brands and I don't want to risk it. Besides, who wants a replica when the real thing is available.
  2. Yes, all this is being taken care of, as I'm buying from someone who knows his stuff. Though I wish he'd reduce the price. I've not yet learnt the art of bargaining.
  3. I originally thought of this only, even tried to get a quote from my Honda dealer. The wheels would cost more or less the same, and I'd have to get tyres anyway. And since I have to spend so much, why not get something which makes my car unique and distinctly different from so many Honda City's around
.

Re: The official alloy wheel show-off thread. Lets see your rims!

Thank you everyone who suggested and supported me in my quest for new wheels on my 2016 Pearl White Honda City VX(O).

I've installed Momo Raptors in 16' and Matte Black color. The tyres are Michelin Primacy 4ST in size 195/55/R16.

Even though the profile has lowered, the ride quality is better than stock MRF ZVTV 175/65/R15. And you can see for yourself how it looks.

Price:

₹74700 excluding buy back of ₹12000 on older wheels.

Freebies: Vaccum Cleaner, Tyre Polish, Car Perfume.

These alloys look awesome specially in a white Honda City. In fact your car should go in Tastefully Modified Cars (PICS : Tastefully Modified Cars in India) thread.

Re: The official alloy wheel show-off thread. Lets see your rims!

Been wanting to ask - there was a terrano on road that wore these alloys and it looked pretty meaty and neat. Can someone guide me to the make of these alloys?

Beautiful wheels and tires! These are definitely some of the prettiest rims I have seen on a 3 series. It reminds me a lot of the E46 M3 wheels which I consider one of the best looking cars of all time.

I have not heard of TSW before. Are they European or Asian?

What have your experiences with these alloys been?

Many thanks to you Sir. TSW are an American brand and has several sub-brands such as Beyern, Black Rhino, XO, and Ruff. They are now available in India both via their official distributor in Mumbai as well as few good wheel dealers.

I switched to these wheel coincidentally when I also switched to tubeless Michelins from OEM runflats, so my experience (which is leagues better ride quality) has more to do with the better tyres than wheels per se.

They order wheels as per your specifications, so offset of the wheel matches your OEM wheels.

All I can say is that the build quality and finish is top class, and with their Mirror Cut Finish looks great in daytime. However they require extra care while cleaning and at workshops to not scratch them
