I read the whole lot of stuff including this post but could not conclude many things.

I have a M800 - 2003 Model. It has done almost 50000 kilometers in these 6 years. It currently has CEAT radials installed which were factory fitted originally. The tyres look fine the design of the grip is still intact. How do I figure out at first place if they need to be changed?

And if they are required to be changed, which is the best one to go for.

Does michelin have tyres that will match the current tyre profile of M800? I do not intend to make any modifications to the same as I believe that a car's design is made to optimize the performance.

Can anyone guide?

My year 2000 Maruti 800 has run 53K kms and its due for a tyre change.

I'd like to go tubeless this time on the same steel rims. Will get the rims checked and replaced if required.

What is the best option for me?

The current tyres are 145/70R12 69S. Will 155/70 R12 give a better ride quality without affecting the mileage too much?

I dont want to go anywider as I find the manual steering already too tough to handle. Any more wider, I think its going to get even more difficult.

I have installed 155/80/r12 on my 2006 M-800 today. They costed me 1900 per tyre. A considerable change in the drive quality. I will upload pictures and video soon. They are Goodyear Assurance GT3. They are not available easily. After much research and keyword match and hard browsing on TeamBHP, I got them from navsari, Gujarat. They are widely available in Mumbai. It feels like as though driving a corsa or an Lancer. But if the wheel alignment is very precise, upsize tyres on Maruti 800 will not make the steering heavy. I was getting sick of the potholes hitting my wheels, they got bent twine this month on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway. I drove the car for 70kms today and feel its absolutely worth it.

I got Goodyear GT3 155/80/12 for Rs 1900. Car handles like Esteem. No bumps, no rollercoaster rides.

155/80/R12 , boy arent u pushing it ? Isnt it touching at full steering turns or at full loads ?

I finally got 145/80R12 Michelin XM1+ for my M800.
Cost 2050/- per type. Filled nitrogen free of cost (otherwise costs Rs. 30 per tyre and Rs. 10 for refills)

I did my Bangalore > Guruvayoor > Bangalore Trip (~950 kms) on these.
Things I noticed:

• lost respect for small potholes and skinny rumble strips (especially the 'there but not there' varities around Gudalur)
• cud take the car a li'l beyond 100kmph. With the earlier Bridgestones, anything close to 90 feels like the tyres are losing contact with the road.
• feel a little lack of confidence on turns at high speeds.

Depends on what other car, you are used to driving. I've pushed my 800Dx to 140km/h on the speedo while sitting relaxed, when I was not used to driving the WagonR.

4 months back, on one evenful day, I had to drive my 800 to gurgaon and it was a scary drive! Did a couple of 120km/h but was too swetty after that.

Now, got used to driving the Honda City and Ritz! and wagonR feels good till 90km/h only! This is the same WagonR, I've driven at 150km/h on the Gurgaon highway.

Anyways, my 800 runs MRF ZVTS, and drives pretty good for a 800. Is Michelin worth it?

Hi,
I feel the same on my 800's zigma's and your's are bridgestone's right.I guess its more of a charcteristic of the handling of the car rather than the
tyres themsleves.The steering feels like that of a boat at anything higher than 90 kmph.

I doubt whether its only to do with the car. With my new Michellin XM1+ tubless tyres, I feel confident to take the car beyond 100.

Hey Sanjaykk,
thanks for posting the pics.Your tyres are pretty neat.I think they are taller than my Zigma's which looks underinflated especially at the front.
Your Michelins seem to have given the car extra ground clearance as well and they dont bulge at the bottom the way a Zigma would.

Keep us posted on the perfomance of the tyres .Maybe i could switch to michelin's in the future too
