We used 185/65R14 Alnac 4Gs on Etios for around 70k kms with zero issues. This car has seen urban and rural usage, worst roads, but no issues faced. Later we upsized the tyres and went for 4G as 4Gs were not available in the size.

The Brezza was sold with Apollo Alnac 4Gs as stock from the time of its 2016 launch up until the new Brezza was launched and was pretty successful and faced nowhere near the heat as the Alnac 4G did on the Baleno. Like I mentioned on the other thread, the issue here has more to do with the size and the sidewall only being of 107 mm.

Apollo also has a cSUV specific product Apterra Cross which they sell in the replacement market (and now comes as stock fitment on the Hyryder/Grand Vitara)

Re: Apollo Tyres, their Alnac 4G sidewall issues, and their attitude

I own 2021 Creta which came with Apollo Alnac 4G from factory (215/60/17). For 2.5 years and 15k km, they worked well. But last month, suddenly the rear tyre burst while I was taking it out of my apartment complex at very slow speed (so nil chances of external impact or high speed damage). Quickly stopped the car and to my horror, there was side wall cut. Spoke to the SA at Hyundai and after looking at pictures he said it is external impact so he doubted if any warranty could be claimed. However I still insisted on filing a claim and handed over the tyre to service center. After a week or so, SA shared a report from Apollo and that they have rejected claim siting external damage. My car was parked in my basement covered parking for many days before the incident and there was no loss of air pressure. I took it out on the fateful day and it burst. Quite disappointed with the tyre quality and poor customer support where company knows well that these tyres are prone to side wall issues. They didn't even offer any goodwill discount on replacement.
Worst part is that no nearby tyre shops in Bangalore (even authorized Apollo shop) has stock of exact same tyre. I spoke to them at length and all of them mentioned that Apollo has stopped production. If I have to move to other thread pattern or different company, I have to get at least 2 tyres (both front or both rear) which is unnecessary expense. I was anyway planning to change tyres in next 1-2 years to better brands but now have to re-think my plan.

I own a 2018 Brezza with Apollo Alnac 4Gs 215/60R16 as stock tyres and I have 58000 on the odometer with these tyres. I never faced any issues with these tyres. One point I want to mention here is that it produces a good amount of noise on roads, specially on concrete roads but no other issues. It's 58K now so planning to replace these stock tyres with better one this time, maybe a pair of Yokohama Earth1.

Thanks. This is exactly the comparison I need. I believe Yokohama earth1 and Apollo 4Gs are in the same category. Please post your views on the comparison.

I just put up new Yokohama Earth1 tyres today and the first thing I noticed is they are silent, no noise. I will upload more details after 2-3 months of usage.

Re: Apollo Tyres, their Alnac 4G sidewall issues, and their attitude

I think the problem is with particular batch(es), my Aspire came with 195,55,15 Apollo Alnac 4G tyres after 2 years 2 tyres were regularly getting punctures. In that One Tyre had side wall damage and got new Apollo Alnac 4G again, used them for 45,000 kilometres. New tyres are Continentals and they are way better.

Alnac 4G was ok in high speed, cornering but noisy, Continental UC6 + Treel =.peace of mind .

It’s been 2.5 months and 5000 KMs since switching to Yokohama Earth1 tires, and the experience has been significantly better than the Alnac 4G. These tires are quieter, offer improved rolling, and deliver a smoother ride by effectively absorbing bumps. They also provide superior grip, making them a great choice overall.
