Guys, I know I started a thread some time back also .... but then my plans got shelved but as my original tyres have literally become completely bald , I have to go in for fresh rubber -- so suming up all my courage and going in for alloys and tyres which I know will leave me poorer by about 40k !!!

This is what Ive decided on .... I just need to be sure that with this sizing I wudn't have trouble of scraping if there are 5 ppl in the car or when I turn my wheel completely to either side !! I know 15 is the recomended size ... but then 16 is what comes in the swift abroad , but pls advise guys ..

The alloy ... 16 inches !!

The tyre ..

Cheers

Hmmm.

Go ahead if you are ok with the ride quality. All the the best. Am sure the Swift will look cool.

Tyres- Going for 195 or 205?

OOppss .. forgot to mention that -- tyre size wud be 205/50 R 16 !!!

Ride quality will be harsher. But the fantastic grip and handling will more than make up for it, if you wish to

what? gave up on the white rims.bah...
and why falkens, any particular reason.....you have Michelin,Yokohama in India now.

as a precautionary measure why dont you drive someone's swift which is probably running on 16 or 17".i am sure arush can hook you up.this way you will know what kind of a ride quality to expect.
dont forget, you used to drive a palio, you would have some expectations when it comes to ride quality.

Falkens are shiite, unless they've suddenly learnt to make mid-budget road tyres.

Those rims in white would really look good on a red swift.

Ride would go potty since the Swift is pretty stiff anyways and make sure you're careful around potholes, if you hit them hard, you could have cuts or sidewall bulges.

First design is hot; but 205 will be over-tyring a sub-100 BHP car.

wont the 16inch wheels and wide 205 rubber spoil the acceleration of the swift??
love the alloy design though.

Awesome combination. Those tyres perform well. Have had them on 2 cars many years back. Check out hte size on the tyre calculator though.

Hey, Can't anything be simple around here ......

1. Is 16 inchers overkilling it .... should I stick to 15 inchers ???
2. If I do go in for 16 .. what size do I go in for ?? Keep in mind that this car will be more of a city car ...an occasional trip onto a bad surface !!!
3. What brand of tyre do I go in for ...???

Unfortunately this design is only available in 16 inchs ... the following one ( not that hot ) is available in 15 inchers -- is this gud enuff , if yes then the above question about the brand and size comes up again ????

HELP URGENTLY ..............

I dont know what people say , I am running my car on 17 inch 215/40/17. and I have no problems till now. I know you can feel pot holes but I am safely run in it on my car since dec 2005. No shocker problem, no rim bent nothing. Also I don't drive slow.

Khaadu I would recommend to go for 16 inch. with your 205/50 R 16 tyre...enjoy.

Falkens are not ****e, I am using Falken Ziex on my Baleno Altura 205/45ZR17, never had any issues with them. They have excellent grip with low road noise.

We have used all kinds of tyres on our car. Michelins Pilots / Pilot Precedas / Certis, Yokohama A Drive / S-Drive / AVS / AVS Sports. Falken are not bad by anystandards and pretty much comparable to the above mentioned tyres.

I would call Goodyears as bad tyres. Not that because i don't like the brand or something, just telling you out of our experience.
