Well we like to be anal about it but the problem is that we have a very limited variety of alloys available & most dealers (if not all) have no clue what an offset is. So, we gotta make do with whatever we can get.

Nos - The ODO is caliberated to calculate the distance based on the OD (Overall Diameter) of the wheels & tyres. In your case there is hardly any difference between the OD of the two sizes. To illustrate:
The OD of 195/65 R15 is 1993.34
The OD of 225/45 R17 is 1992.71
So, the difference is only -0.63mm, which is about as negligible as it gets.

hey viper so how much would it cost to send it down to bangalore?

Not sure about transport charges, should be approx 1000-1200 + octroi thats what they charge to send a Free Flow to Banglore(25-30kgs)
