Try to avoid the Falkens. They just look good thats it.
For that price i would suggest S Drives.

The correct upsize for Laura would be:
215/50-16
225/50-16
235/50-16
Now, in these sizes i dont think u would have many tyre options. Since Yoko almost out of stock throughout the country and Bridgestone dont have many options , the only option left is Michelin.
In Michelin u'll get Energy MXV8 which doesn't have an aggressive thread pattern to impress u i guess.
I'm not sure abt the size but i think u might get Michelin Pilot Primacy which has an assymetrical thread pattern.
I would suggest u to wait for sometime if u can and get the Yokos. Michelin Pilot Primacy |
Primacy only available in 215/60R16 and 225/55 R16.
Pilot primacy is very much a comfort pattern and not sports oriented.
225/50 R16 may be available in PP2.
Yoko available in 225/50 R16 ES501(Comfort pattern)

ER300 made in France.
5600 for Falken is pure stupidity, shrivz had it on his Baleno and sweared by the poor grip levels it gave, now he is on S drives and there is a market improvement, dont go for falkens even if they for free.
Busa, unless you have personally tried them out, I suggest you refrain from making such conclusive statements. Falken make some terrific tyres. Like any company though, they do have tyres to suit various criteria.
I know for a fact that Falken's higher performance tyres are good. Not the best, but surely not bad enough ike you make them out to be.

agree: Don't fall for the price trap with these tyres, there is a reason why they are so cheap & trust me you don't wanna find out what it is!
If you plan to stick to the stock size here are the official options you have:
Yokohama S-Drive
Michelin Energy MXV8
Apart from this there might be more grey market options available to you like the AVS Sports which are definetely good tyres. But remember as a general rule of the thumb any performance biased tyre will always wear out faster than a comfort biased tyre. So, if you have expectations on tyre life, keep that in mind before deciding.
So FALKEN OUT , GSD3 OUT ... Michelins are a bit too expensive .
By the way how about Michelins in grey market (XM1) getting them @ around 6.2k ??
The last option would be Potenza GIIIs (215/55)-grey or Turanzas again (215/55)
Why are u not opting for the Yokos?
AVS sport is out because that kind of an tread pattern wouldnt give me a good life . So probably S-drive or an AVS BD s2 are the options in Yokos .And What about michelins XM1 in grey market will they be a safe bet ?
Will have to finalise by Friday.
By the way upsizing from 205 to 215 increases braking or decreases braking ? And is it any harm to the life of the suspension.(as in the case of low profile tyres)
(According to me it should increase the braking)
Karan,
Going +1 or +2 upsize will not harm your suspension but up sizing greater then that will eventually take its toll on the drive shafts & tie rod ends.
As far as braking again too wide a tyres as in +3 or +4 and you will need larger or more powerful brakes to be at 100 % efficiency.
Viper
Karan
You will not get XM1 in 16". It should be the Energy MVX8 and spending 6.2k for that isn't a great idea when u are getting S drives for much lesser price.

I think you can get official tyres for that kind of price in the market.
