do old tyres have value

Guys- have you heard of Kalasipalyam, Shivajinagar, Journalist colony?
These are the lanes and bylanes near City Market, Russel Market & JC road least known and most avoided by the Radial's of Bangalore.
These are the places where the 2nd hand tyre market thrives. You can get almost any type of tyre here- from aircraft upto 10ft dumpster, if you're lucky (and have the guts) to navigate through those narrow lanes. You can even get your tyres an instant retread.
Sorry no pics; I tried to get some for this thread yesterday but the guys made a scene against photography.

Hi Everyone. Want to upsize tyres on my 3 month old KIA Carens from the existing 205 65 R16 to 215 or 225 whichever looks better. Existing tyres have run 2500 kms. Does anyone know of a shop in South Bangalore which will buy my tyres in exchange for the new tyres. I know I may not get much but wanted a decent price for them. Any leads would be appreciated.

This looks stock for Innova Crysta's. Look out for cabbies who may need tyres. You can also check with /at nearby alignment shops for such Crysta's. Negotiate the price.

I am in Bangalore so went to Madhus Tyre Centre Wilson Garden. They took all 5 old tyres for 2500 rupees each and I upsized all five tyres to 215 65 R16. Looks good now.
