I own a 2019 Elite i20 Asta (O) Diesel. I don't think there will be much effect on driving dynamics and components as they are factory fitment option for the top end and you just want to install them on a lower end model.

The only thing you need to consider is the ride quality. Not a much concern thou but it will be a bit hard as the thickness of the rubber is less when you opt for 195/55 and also due to the bigger 16 inch rims. You will feel this only in slow speeds and very worse roads. In highways, it's gem and i bet you can't make any difference and the suspension is good enough to handle everything thrown at it.

And there will a small increase in ride height too. I feel you can blindly go for it. Only thing to be taken care is of choosing the right set of tyres. My car came with a Bridgestone B250, which works just fine. I would opt for Bridgestone Turanza during next tyre change. Heard very good reviews about them.

As someone who has already dealt with all the shenanigans of upsizing tyres :) - I can tell you that a 1 inch upsize is more of a cosmetic upgrade and will have negligible effects, if any, on your car, the FE or the ride height. The fact that this is being offered by Hyundai itself should give you significant "comfort". lol:

Tyres, though, are a personal choice as each brand has its own set of pros and cons - some tend to be more durable, some tend to be quieter, some have better wet grip, etc etc.
Personally, I currently have Michelin's XM2s on my i20 because they give me a soft and quiet ride. From what I've read on the forum, the performance of the Conti MC-5 is supposedly better than most tyres in this segment so you should be good.

I own a 2017 Asta (O) petrol and it come factory fitted with 195/55/16 tyres with alloys, its a little bumpy because of the low profile.
For tyre you can try Yokohama, I had them in my earlier i10 and it was really value for money.

So finally a couple of days more until i take the delivery of my MY19 I20 Sportz+ DSL. My new tyres are ready to be swapped once the vehicle rolls out from the dealership.

Finally my I20 DSL Sportz+ is home and the very first thing done post delivery is the tyre upgrade to 155/65-R16 Continental Max Contact MC5 along with 16' OEM Hyundai diamond cut alloys (OEM fitment on Asta(O))

Congrats! Car looks great and will look even better with a blackend roof.

For how much did you sell the 15 inch alloys and to whom, and for how much did you get the diamond cut alloys and from where?

The general information that is floating around is BS4 diesel engines will not do well with BS6 diesel. What is the thought process behind your purchase?

I traded the OEM tyres/rims including the spare with the current setup for around 22K.

About the fuel part. Not thought about it. My running is quite much to opt for diesel and wanted a car immediately after the sale of my Honda Amaze that covered 1.15L kms.

Hi, I drive a 2014 i20 Asta CRDI. The car came equipped with 14" Alloys however I felt it needed an upsize to better the handling. Hence within the 1st month itself changed the alloys to 15" Deep Dish wheels and again swapped the design to a design similar to BMW MY alloys. The pics are with the current set of alloys.

Wow. Those alloys look good. Can you share the exact spec of your tyres? How has the handling improved? Also, where did you source the alloys from and how much did they cost ? With my 9 year old i20 I am thinking of sprucing it up a little to keep it going for another couple of years at least.

P.S: since you are in Delhi, where do you get the car serviced?

Thanks Pancham. I was using 195/55 R15 Tyres before which improved the handling to a great extent. The car feels more planted on straightline as well as curves. Right now I've changed the Tyres to 185/60 R15 and find not much has changed apart from the fact that the mileage has improved a bit in city driving. On 195 section Tyres I was getting 650-670 kms/tank and now getting 700+/tank. I always drive with AC on during Summers and these readings are from Summers only. Let's see how much it has improved for the winters.

I always upgrade my wheels and Tyres from BK Tyres, Lajpat Nagar. They always give you the correct advice. I got the M6 alloys for 19k for a set of 4. The Tyres costed me 3.1k/each.

I buy the required stuff from a Hyundai MOBIS dealer in Noida along with the MGDO 5w40 synthetic engine oil. I've got a mechanic in wazirpur. I go to him only for the servicing from don't remember how many years and what all cars. On my i20 I've got it serviced only twice from him till yet as 40k service was done in the ASS.

Is there a typo in your post or am i missing something?

I think there are only two possible sizes for R16 alloy for i20 and those are 195/55 and 205/55.

Is there a tyre of 155/65 size for 16 inch alloy?:Shockked:

I will be taking delivery of my New i20 Asta (O) next week. I am in Bangalore.
This might come with CEAT SecuraDrive 16 inch 195/55 as per initial look/preview shared by mods. My preferences are good grip and less noise.
As per forum recommendations in different threads, Conti UC6 (MC5 is discontinued and UC6 is the successor it seems) and Michelin P4ST (P3ST are discontinued and P4ST is the successor) are the 2 options. I would like to straight away go and exchange them.
Conti UC6 are 7.6k per tyre. 2k per tyre buyback is offered for CEAT Securadrive :(

Please suggest.

Has anyone tried 195/60 R16 as replacement for the stock 195/55 R16 in the i20?

There's a car that is coming up for first replacement since purchase, and currently it has Bridgestone

I have tried this on my Hyundai Verna, a week back.
