I can imagine this scene. Young Tonrag full of beans being told so by the KVCCC's bunch of old men. I guess Dad was president then.

I cannot wait to see more of the old pictures.

The Daimlers still survive with the respective families. The Chrysler went to Coimbatore and from there no idea.

Cheers

Four known, 3 Cartier viz.Jasdanwalla, Mallya and Sanghi (in alphabetical order). And one Titus for the next Cartier? There are 3 more tourers supposed to be "lost".

Cheers harit

Re: Bangalore Vintage & Classic Collection

Bangalore has a 1928 Willy's Whippet which used to be a running car sometime back and over time had deteriorated quite a bit. The Owner wants to get the car back on the road after many years. The other day I was looking at the car and I was fascinated by the rear brakes. These are mechanical breaks and guess must have taken some getting used too.

Following are the pictures which are self explanatory

Re: Bangalore Vintage & Classic Collection

KVCCC has lost two active members from the same family in Jan'12. Many can recollect the Curtis family and their two MG TC's. Sadly the younger son Harry Curtis died of a heart attack at the age of 45 about a week back. The grief was too much for the father Mr. L C Curtis passed away at the age of 92 years last evening.

May their souls rest in peace. All of us in vintage movement in Bangalore will miss them and do hope that the family will come through this double blow

Here is a picture of Mr. Curtis and his MG TC posted earlier in the same thread

Re: Bangalore Vintage & Classic Collection

Some nostalgia ....

The Late Ravi Kumar with Girish Naidu brought in great cars to Bangalore. They gave a lot of impetus to KVCCC and the vintage movement at Bangalore. Girish was particularly outstanding in his restoration work. As a youngster, used to amazed at the restoration standards achieved by Girish.

Here is an example of Girish's work, a 1948 Singer 9 Roadster, Judged best restored car of the year 1996 by the Singer Owners Club UK , and the Jack Daniels Trophy for best restored car at the Statesman Rally , Delhi
