An interesting photo from my maternal Grandfather's family (Nilambur Kovilakom). I have heard him say that the Head of the family bought a new Ford every year. This one looks pretty beat up though :(

Grandfather's 1948 Wolseley Eight is now in the Geedee Museum, Coimbatore. The registration is not authentic though.

Nilambur (Malabar) belonged to the then Madras Presidency.

Back in 1991 or so, I have seen one MG TC (or TA/TB) which once belonged to Nilambur Kovilakam with a car collector in Thrissur who had around 10 or 12 cars. I remember him saying that the stepney wheel of the car was with a Kovilakam family member in Bangalore and he went there to get it.

I have learnt reliably that this is the same car that was originally registered as KRD 1000 - a picture of which is there just a few posts before (post #1197) - at a Film Shoot Location (then owners were a prominent Production house in Malayalam Film industry)

The same car seen in the movie Ahimsa

Many petrol heads in Kerala, Travancore and Trivandrum, in that order would be happy to hear that the Legendary Royal Car is Back in Trivandrum

The Car had been given (sold ?) to a very prominent gulf based entrepreneur from Mangalore by HH Marthanda Varma himself just couple of years before his demise, in 2013.

Now its back in Trivandrum and is undergoing a "no expense spared" restoration.

Car has hopefully found a permanent place in Trivandrum.

Just couple of pictures to refresh the memories
