I know this car! I see it all the time in ASC Golf Course. I ve met the gentleman who drives it. He said it was imported originally from Germany to England and then brought to India on TR.
Lovely car.
If he is keen to sell anytime, this is a car I would buy with my eyes shut.

Re: Mercedes-Benz W123

A W123 (all original but seems it needs some restoration) has arrived into a very diverse+famous car collector's garage in Kolkata.
Can't wait to spot it on its midnight drives, looking gangsta and elegant at the same time!

Same Turbo D 300 as the Green one which lives in Bangalore and comes to the Golf Course now and then. Lovely old gent, the owner.
He brought it in to UK from Germany when he worked in the UK in the 1970’s-1980’s. And brought it home to India on TR when he returned.
Now he drives it about Bangalore and it is immaculate!

Haha thanks for sharing. Picked up by Bhpian Anish9000.
Can't wait for this one to get ready to it's prime. Lot of parts being sourced worldwide. Final product would be top notch.

Car belonged to famous tennis player, Vijay Amritraj. All original condition. Single owner.

Re: Mercedes-Benz W123

W123 pundits, needed some advice.

I am contemplating on purchasing a W123 in the coming future. None of the ads that I come across on the various FB groups as well as OLX seem to have consistent pricing. A lot of them even seem to be on the higher end as well, unnecesarily.

Can anyone let me know a ballpark figure at which W123s are sold these days? Honestly, not looking for a car in an absolute immaculate condition. I rather buy a decent car and then slowly and steadily get work done on it.

Hi,

So I recently spotted this W123 Station Wagon in the basement of an apartment that I had owned before. It is in a dusty condition and I have been seeing it for some months now. Please find a suitable thread to post these pictures. The registration details have been erased and also, I apologise for the extremely bad camera quality. It was taken from an old phone of mine which I carried at the time. I shall be taking pictures in a better camera the next time I visit. Moreover, the basement is dark and is not suitable for great pictures anyways.

Re: Mercedes-Benz W123

I found an old W123, 200d long parked outside a house ( guess the owners have migrated to new modern cars, this classic car is outside while the others are inside the house )
However before I approach the owner is it worth investing in a W123 200d.
The RC expired in 2010 & currently under the 2nd owner.

Also thinking to restore it (would be my first), so what are any major expense that I may have to bear ?

Attaching pics for reference

Experts please advise

Based on your location, Is it possible to renew the RC?
I have heard Delhi cars have some fitness renewal issues related to NGT.

Based on lights and windproofing, car should be post 1982.

Car looks great in shape. I could see rust below fender and front right quarter panel out of shape. So some TLC, painting is required. you need to look at underbody, door lower portions, trunk as these are rust prone.

You have to start the car or take for a spin to see feel the engine, brakes and clutch. if car was not running, brakes would need cleaning, replacement pads and some tires too.

Please post some interior pics if you get a chance to talk to owner.
Good luck.

I don't think renewing RC is an option in DELHI NCR as you rightly pointed out the NGT ban on older vehicles .
Whats even more scary is that now the Govt. is looking to introduce Scrappage policy & NGT is pushing state Govt (WB in this particular case)to scrap non BS4 models in a phased manner.

So yes these certainly are some apprehensions related to old cars in Delhi NCR.

I am not sure if it would qualify for old / new classic cars only to be utilised for rallies

Yes you rightly pointed out, the running board is getting rusted
