Lovely pictures, thanks for sharing. The car should be a Hillman Minx around 1946 -48. The car looks to be fairly new, which tallies with the date you mentioned.

Car seems to have a Pune registration of the same time period. Note the typical hand painted font of the plates, which were prevalent in the region for years.

This Lambretta LD Three Wheeler was a private vehicle owned by Mr Cardis from Clarke Town, Nagpur. He was a Shikari and went with hunting in it in the forests around Nagpur. That's his younger son Rodney and his wife on the vehicle. Rodney too passed away and now only Basi Toody Cardis is alive and lives in Sydney. He still keeps in touch with me.
