Sharing an old family photo. The little boy is my dad aged around 8 or 9 years old. Next to him is my grandfather's compounder. This was taken in Bhagalpur, where my grandfather served as a Civil Surgeon. The car I believe is a Ford Anglia. I could be wrong however and would appreciate if someone could identify the model.

Interesting to see the bicycle like spokes on the early car rims. This car looks pretty stout and heavy to be sporting spokes unlike the mainstream early 1900 models with thin tyres and light build.

A lovely picture, thanks for sharing. The car is definitely an English built Ford, maybe mid 1930s.

Here is a coincidence, an old photo of the same Morris 8 from a flea market find.

This picture is so evocative and I can imagine Bombay of those days being like for example Nassau in the Bahamas or Kingston in Jamaica. It certainly was every bit as classy…

Sharing the google street-view of the same location as it is today. Note the same building in the background.

Wow! Shows that the reclamation around Napen Sea Road/Priyadarshini Park happened post 1950.

Thanks for sharing.

A Standard Vanguard! Look at the number of persons atop the car.
