I guess you are talking about Petrol vehicle ?

The Ex-showroom is 8.56 lakhs listed (Mumbai). I am not really sure what you guys are talking. I missed couple of heart beats.

I am referring to 2010 mfg vehicle. 2009 carrying some discount in diesel but even that is not much as petrol.
Proxima is right. 9,37,000 is steep. Try bringing it down to less than 9L.

30k Insurance is a joke. Get it down to 15k.
Corp Discount of 8k is another joke. Ford offers whopping discounts of 40 - 60k if yours is Cat A company in their database. Check this again if its only 8k.

Fiesta Diesel EXI is 7.4L OTR in Chennai and you getting SXI for 9.4L is way too high. 2Lakhs for ABS, Airbags and Vinyl leather.. ?

Yes, Rs.9.37L for 1.4 SXI Diesel is on high side.
As per Ford, the 1.4SXi Diesel cost at mumbai is Rs.8,46,424?
I think you are paying very high insurance cost !
Did you check with other dealer for a quote on the similar variant?

Make : TATA
Model : SAFARI
Variant : VX 4X4
Fuel : Diesel
Booking Date : 21 Jan 2010
Color : Cycus Grey
Expected Delivery Date : Should have had it by now, but some confusion b/w dealer & the plant. Following it up to get it by next week !
Dealer & City : Concorde Motors, Bangalore
Freebies : Sun film and Regulars e.g. Mats/Flaps
Others :
- Discounts - 25K (10K offer, 10K corporate & additional 5K)

Anything else I should be checking for better pricing and quicker delivery ?

Also, someone in other thread (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...-2010-a-4.html) mentioned that there is NO increase in pricing for 2010 TATA Safari. Thats NOT true. I am seeing a OTR increase of ~50K for VX 4X4 variant.

Prem.

Yes Mate...I did check with 2 dealers here in Mumbai. The Ex-showroom in 8.56 Mumbai Registration. Also tried negotiating with HDFC on loan and dealer tie up. The max it came to 12K.

Insurance is surely on the higher side - first quote was 33K, later while finalizing came down to 30K. I know this is higher side. The dealer himself told me that I can get it at lower quote from outside, however he as usual fired the FORD suggest and blah blah stuff. registration in Mumbai is high. 62K (I think near about, dont recollect exact).

So In all I am paying 90K approx over the ex-showroom. The discount is 8K and some accessories worth 7K, makes it 15K.

OT - The option I had was to go for verna SX at 8.8 on road after discount. They offering huge discount on 2010 cars as well. But did not find it that comfortable as Fiesta in city drive.

@Firebird

Insurance - You can take from your source. Bajaj Allianz has got a tie up with Ford.
anyway it should not be more than Rs.16000/17000 (if not less)

Registration - you can check with RTO for the rate (% of the tax), then you can
calculate to see how much it works out to be. (for example Road Tax is 6% of the show room price in kerala). I think mumbai has got 7% Road tax which means the l tax will be (of 8.56 show room price) Rs.59,920/- plus about Rs.500 will be registration fees,- so the balance amount is charged by the dealer for doing the registration work with RTO.?

Dear teamBHP membes,

After months of reading reviews, discussing/debating with friends and family members, and almost buying a second hand Elantra, I finally booked my Berry Red i20 about 3 weeks ago.
Make : Hyundai
Model: i20
Variant : Asta
Fuel : Petrol
Booking Date : 24/Jan/2010
Color : Berry Red
Expected Delivery Date : 12/Feb/2010
Dealer & City : Trident Hyundai, Bangalore
Freebies : Floor mats, Mud flaps
Others : The dealer is giving us 3M sunfilm at a reduced cost of Rs 1,000.

Yesterday the car finally arrived at Nellamangala (near B'lore) and will go for registration today.

Really excited about the new car. Thanks to the amazing community here at teamBHP for the superb, unbiased reviews and suggestions. This forum really rocks !

Guys,

Took delivery today after doing an extensive PDI. Overall a good experience. Very satisfied with the dealership (MPL Ford). They had opened a new showroom in Taramani, Chennai and I was the first customer to take delivery there.

Will start a thread tonight and post initial pictures.

A good news for me...

The sales manager of SC ford called just now, as per the scheme in this month, I will get Free insurance a 30K benefit to me and the vehicle is delayed as All new vehicles would come with Euro IV norms.

This reduces the On-road price to 9.07 lakh

@Firebird

Thats a good bargain (infact the free insurance was there from Ford - I got the offer
when I bought my car in september 2009).
And the best is that you are getting a EURO IV NORM Car ! ! -this is the real benefit.

PDI of Linea at Stockyard

Hey guys,

Went for a PDI of my Linea at the stockyard. This is a Jan 10 Emotion Pk-Flamenco red. Noticed that the old cars (2009) models have Blaupunkt written on the Stereo but none of the 2010 models have it there. Also noticed a sticker on the left side front quarter glass which reads New Model. Any news on this??
As per the Chassis number(ending with ANZ) it is a Jan 10 model. The car was in good condition and seemed to be ok. Did not get to take a spin as it was in the yard and will be taking delivery on Wednesday. Waiting for the Italian Beauty to come home.

Cheers.
