10,000 km with my Maruti Brezza: Mileage & ownership experience

If fuel efficiency is a major issue for you, you're probably better off splurging on the Grand Vitara/Hyryder strong hybrids.

BHPian Small Bot recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

I finished a milestone of 10,000 kms a few days ago. And promptly added some 700 kms over the next two days, so I was unable to click the appropriate odometer photos.

It's been a breeze so far, the ownership of this car. Other than a few accidents which necessitated me claiming own damage insurance.

The fuel efficiency in bumper-to-bumper traffic (which is probably 90% of my total driving) has hovered between 8 and 11 kmpl, depending on the time of the day and how hard the AC has to work.

Nasty traffic plus midday Chennai heat generally sums up to single-digit kmpl drives.

On the rare occasion when I drive on traffic-less city roads with the space to coast, it easily rises to 13-14 kmpl.

Out on the highway (though it's been a while), I had frequently clocked 22 kmpl, with a steady speed of 80-100 kmph.

All said it's a very fuss-free car with minimal pain points. I've never found the cabin lacking for space in the front, though the small boot plays spoilsport once in a while. The cabin feels airy inside, probably because of the space around my head and the colour of the roofliner.

14 months of a no-nonsense car, and I'm thoroughly content.
