2014 Hyundai Accent (Verna) revealed in USA

Hyundai has revealed the 2014 Accent in the USA. The Accent, which is known as the Verna in India, is a popular model in the US. It is also the best-selling C2 segment sedan in India.

The Accent, which comes in two body styles, a hatchback and a sedan, gets a few design changes as well as more equipment. One-touch triple turn signal, sliding sun visors and a blind spot mirror are now available as standard. An updated standard audio system for improved voice recognition and button layout is also featured on all models. The 5-door SE and 4-door Premium Package models get projector headlights with LED accents, headlamp welcome / escort function, driver’s auto-up power window and tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel. In addition to this, the sporty 5-door SE gets a B&M Racing Sport Shifter.

Mechanically, the Accent remains unchanged. The 1.6 litre Gamma engine that powers it, develops 138 bhp and 166 Nm of torque.  The car is available with a choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission with Hillstart Assist Control. It comes equipped with 6 airbags for safety.

With the 2014 Accent expected to go on sale shortly, it may not be long before we get an updated Verna in India.
