Hyundai Verna scores 5-stars in Global NCAP crash tests

The made-in-India Verna scored 28.18 points for adult occupant safety and 42 points for child occupant protection.

The Hyundai Verna has been awarded a 5-star rating by Global NCAP. The car secured 28.18 points for adult occupant safety and 42 points for child occupant protection.

In the frontal impact test, the Verna offered good protection to the driver's and passenger's head and neck. The driver’s chest showed marginal protection, and the passenger’s chest showed good protection. Driver’s and passenger’s knees showed marginal protection. The driver’s tibias showed adequate protection, while the passenger’s tibias showed good and adequate protection.

In the side impact test, the head, pelvis and abdomen showed good protection, while the chest showed adequate protection. The car offered good protection to the head and pelvis in the side impact test. Protection for the chest and abdomen was rated as marginal and adequate, respectively.

The child seat was able to prevent head exposure of a 3-year-old during the frontal impact test. The rear-facing child seat for the 18-month-old was able to prevent head exposure, offering full protection. Both child restraint systems offered full side impact protection as well.

The test car was equipped with dual front airbags and curtain airbags. The Verna also gets seat belt reminders, ESC and ISOFIX as standard.
