2015 Ford EcoSport could lose rear-mounted spare wheel

A test mule of the 2015 Ford EcoSport has been spotted. Going by the single image that has been put up by Auto Evolution, there do not seem to be any major changes to the crossover except one - the tailgate-mounted spare wheel has been dropped.

With the spare wheel moved off the tailgate, the number plate housing has been moved up from the bumper. The bumper itself is expected to be slightly tweaked to iron out the area where the number plate was earlier housed. The tail lights and other fitting and features of the EcoSport appear to be unchanged.

It is rumoured that the interior of the car is likely to be built with better materials and the infotainment system will be upgraded.

The EcoSport is also unlikely to feature any mechanical changes. It is expected to continue with the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder EcoBoost petrol, 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder TiVCT petrol and 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder TDCi diesel engines.
