2 CKD Units of the 2016 Jaguar XF, codenamed as the X260, have been imported in India for R&D purpose. Records on Zauba show that two new XF models, each in petrol and diesel, have been imported along with many parts of the second-gen sedan. These imports suggest that Jaguar India might soon launch the all-new 2016 XF in the country.

The 2016 Jaguar XF is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine, that churns out 180 BHP of power @ 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 431 Nm @ 1,750-2,500 rpm. This engine is mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox.

The petrol XF gets a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine, which is capable of generating 238 BHP and 340 Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed ZF automatic gearbox. A 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol is also on offer in the international markets, though Jaguar India is highly unlikely to bring this option here.

Built on an all-aluminium architecture, the new Jaguar XF is around 200 Kgs lighter than the models. The wheelbase has been extended by 51 mm, but the overall length has been reduced by 7 mm by limiting the front and rear overhangs. The XF gets boot space of 540 litres.

Changes on the outside are subtle, as the new Jaguar XF gets a redesigned front bumper, hood and adaptive LED headlights with the company's characteristic J-blade Daytime Running Lamps. The taillights too have been tweaked a bit, and appear to be inspired by the Jaguar F-Type. A blacked out insert in the rear bumper houses the dual exhaust pipes.
