2020 Auto Expo: Haima EV1 is a sub-Rs. 10 lakh electric car

Bird Electric has unveiled the Haima EV1 electric hatchback at the 2020 Auto Expo. China-based Haima New Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Haima Automobile Group. The company has partnered with Bird Electric to manufacture the EV1 in India. It is likely to be built in Manesar, near Gurgaon.

The EV1 is expected to be priced in the sub-Rs. 10 lakh bracket in India. The car measures 3,680 mm in length, 1,570 mm in width, 1,530 mm in height and the wheelbase is 2,340 mm. The car is powered by an electric motor that has an output of 40 BHP and 95 Nm / 150 Nm. It has a claimed top speed of 120 km/h.

The EV1 is likely to be offered with two lithium battery options - 20.42 kWh and 28.5 kWh. The batteries offer a maximum range of 202-301 km on a single charge and it takes 9-11 hours to recharge them to 100%. Running cost is claimed to be Rs. 60 / 100 km. The car comes equipped with 2 airbags.
