Volkswagen has globally unveiled the 2021 Polo GTI performance hatchback. The new Volkswagen Polo GTI carries forward a number of design inspirations from its larger sibling, the Golf.
Design updates on the updated 2021 Polo GTI include a new grille and air dam, which now feature a honeycomb pattern. The front grille also features the traditional 'GTI' badging, along with the signature red stripes.
The 2021 Polo GTI now comes with the brand's IQ.Lights - matrix LED headlights as standard and a sleek set of LED tail lights at the rear. The updated Polo GTI also comes with redesigned fog lamp housing. It also features newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, twin-tip exhaust and a slightly revised rear bumper. Volkswagen has also moved the 'GTI' badge to the centre of the boot.
Inside, the updated 2021 Volkswagen Polo GTI now features a bunch of red trims on the dashboard and the centre console. It also features a new steering wheel design, revised gear knob, 10.24-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, a large 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Volkswagen's latest connected tech and touch-controls for the climate control system; among others.
The 2021 Volkswagen Polo GTI though, continues to be powered by the same 2.0-litre TSI unit as before. It produces 204 BHP and 320 Nm and is paired with a standard 7-speed DSG transmission unit. Volkswagen claims the Polo GTI is capable of accelerating from 0 - 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.
