2023 MotoGP: Grand Prix of Bharat scheduled on 22-24 Sept

The 2023 calendar will have the highest ever races and participating countries for any season so far.

The debut MotoGP race in India has been scheduled between September 22-24, 2023, subject to homologation and regulatory approvals, at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.

The 'Grand Prix of Bharat' will be the 14th race of the 21-race season & will debut alongside Kazakhstan GP next year. The 2023 calendar will have the highest ever races and participating countries for any season so far.

India has over 20 crore two-wheelers on its roads currently. This makes it one of the biggest motorcycle markets in the world and is important for the manufacturers participating in the MotoGP season.

The Buddh International Circuit was initially planned for Formula 1 races but only 3 races took place from 2011-2013. It is likely that the track needs to be homologated by the FIM (Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme) for the MotoGP event.
