4th-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire officially revealed ahead of launch

The Maruti Dzire will compete with compact sedans like the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor.

Maruti Suzuki has taken the wraps off the 2024 Dzire. The fourth generation of the popular compact sedan will be launched on November 11.

The all-new Maruti Dzire measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, and 1,525 mm in height. The car's wheelbase is 2,450 mm and has a ground clearance of 163 mm.

The new Dzire adopts a completely new design philosophy that looks way more pleasing to the eye compared to its predecessors. The car features a large hexagonal grille at the front with sleek LED headlamps on either side. The rear features neat clear lens taillights with Y-shaped internals.

The interior of the new Dzire looks similar to the Swift. The dashboard has a layered design with faux wood trim and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre. The car comes with a 3-spoke steering and a conventional twin-dial instrument cluster. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, rear AC vents, an electric sunroof, and a 360-degree camera.

Powering the new Dzire is Maruti’s new Z12E 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. This unit produces 81 BHP and 112 Nm and is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The new model comes with an idle start/stop system.

The new Dzire is equipped with several safety features. These include 6 airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD and brake assist, ISOFIX, and a rear defogger.
