4th-gen Skoda Octavia launch postponed to 2021

According to Zac Hollis, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, the launch of the fourth generation Octavia could now happen in early 2021.

The new Octavia was initially expected to be launched in October 2020. However, the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has forced Skoda to reschedule future launches.

The fourth-generation Octavia was unveiled in November, last year. The car features a new grille that has a chrome frame and twin-pod LED headlights with L-shaped LED daytime running lights. The redesigned front bumper houses a pair of fog lamps. At the rear, the new Octavia gets redesigned LED tail lights and bumper. The boot lid now has the Skoda lettering in the centre instead of the circular logo. It also gets an all-new interior with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit.

In India, the new Octavia could be offered with a 2.0-litre, turbo petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A smaller 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit could be introduced later.
