9,498 units of Toyota Urban Cruiser recalled for airbag issue

A total of 9,498 units manufactured between July 28, 2020 and February 11, 2021 are said to be affected by this issue.

Toyota has recalled the Urban Cruiser for a faulty driver side airbag module.

A total of 9,498 units manufactured between July 28, 2020 and February 11, 2021 are said to be affected by this issue.

Toyota hasn't revealed the exact details of the issue. However, according to the company statement, a possible issue with the driver side airbag module assembly has come to light. The company has decided to recall the vehicles for replacement of the concerned part, free of cost.

Owners of the vehicles that have been affected by this issue will be contacted by authorized Toyota dealers for inspection and replacement of the part. For queries, customers can reach out to the nearest dealer or call the Customer Assistance Centre on 1800 425 0001.

It seems like the Maruti Vitara Brezza, which basically is the same car, hasn't been affected by this issue.
