Amittrajit Ghosh will compete in the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC), becoming the first Indian driver to do so. He will be driving for Team RRPM and will be competing in a few rounds of the ERC this year to gain experience. Amittrajit and co-driver Ashwin Naik will begin their campaign in round 3 at the EKO Acropolis Rally 2018 to be held in Lamia, Greece from June 1-3.

Amittrajit will be driving a Ford Fiesta R2 in the ERC 3 category. The car is based on the European Fiesta and is powered by a 170 BHP engine mated to a 5-speed sequential transmission. The car uses adjustable Reiger dampers, Eibach springs and AP Racing brakes. Latvia-based Baltic Motorsport Promotion will be responsible for servicing and running the car.

Amittrajit has won the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) on two occasions (2012-2013) and the Indian National Racing Championship once (2005). He has also won the MRF Racing Challenge and the INRC in the 1,400 cc category. Amittrajit has also won a podium place in his class at his maiden appearance in the British Rally Championship.
