BMW iX M60 with colour-changing tech to debut at CES 2022

The electric powertrain on the M60 version could produce over 600 BHP

BMW is said to introduce its iX M60 EV at CES 2022, to be held in January next year.

The new BMW iX M60 is said to be the brand's first all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle. While the exact specifications haven't been revealed, the electric powertrain on the M60 version could produce over 600 BHP, a sizeable upgrade compared to the SUV's xDrive50 variant.

However, the most significant feature of the upcoming BMW iX M60 will be the introduction of a new technology that allows exterior colour change, at the "touch of a button". BMW is yet to mention how the system works, but with the technology onboard, customers will be able to change the exterior colours of their iX EV at any time.

BMW also mentions the iX M60 to feature a "cutting-edge in-car movie theatre experience", the details for which are yet to be revealed.

BMW recently launched the iX EV in the Indian market for Rs 1.16 crore. In India, the BMW iX is offered in a single xDrive40 trim and rivals the Mercedes-Benz EQC and Audi e-tron.
