Getting used to the ways of the ADAS is not very difficult but in tight traffic, the alerts get a bit annoying.
BHPian Sridhar K recently shared this with other enthusiasts.
Took delivery of a black 2024 Hyundai Creta SX(O) Diesel AT on Sunday and have done about 180 Kms so far.
The vehicle came with JK Tyres UX Royale and I swapped them for Vredestein Utrac at GN tyres. The differences in the grip level, comfort, road noise were immediately felt. The tyres seem to be similar to Michelin Primacy ST, a touch better than Continental UC6 so far. Sales experience with FPL Hyundai Chromepet was one of the best I have had. Kudos to the sales executive Abdul.
I was initially inclined towards N Line but took the proven diesel TC over potentially trouble some DCT that is not optimized for start stop traffic. Much has been written on this forum and hence not repeating here except for a few items like below.
- Felt that the upgraded Alpine SPG speakers with the stock Harman HU on my Ignis sound better than the much-wanted Bose music systems. Except for Bass, Treble controls, there aren't any equalizer options available to tune it to one's taste.
- Steering feels a bit more connected than the one on the N line, may be due to the additional weight of the diesel. The 17-inch wheels do add to the better ride quality.
- Panoramic sunroof does mean that there is significant heat transfer into the cabin. I have installed Garware Artic cool sunfilm on the sunroof to address this.
- Mudflaps were not in stock and got it for cheaper from the outside. Same with the rain visor.
- Had opted for body cover, door sill plates, front and rear skid extenders and screen protector from Hyundai.
- Getting used to the ways of ADAS was not very difficult but in tight traffic, the alerts get a bit annoying.
- he front armrest does not slide forward and is a drawback.
- Lack of illuminated switches is a big let-down for a car that is 24.5 lakhs on road in Chennai.
- Installed QUBO dual-channel dashcam. Ideally, with the 360-degree camera and the ADAS set up, dashcam set up should have been a welcome addition.
- Auto hold feature is extremely useful but the start/stop feature is a big irritant since the a/c cuts off, making it unbearable in hot and humid Chennai.
- A mono-tone mood lighting that too at only one spot is a downer.
- Hyundai had taken a cue from MSIL on thinning the window glasses. Viper blades are the low-end model from a syndicate that also supplies to MSIL.
- Noise insulation is fantastic.
- The doors, hood etc. seem much heavier than the outgoing model and the Kia twins. Hopefully, it will fare well in Bharat NCAP.
