TVS is all set to introduce the Norton brand in India later this year, and one of the first bikes offered by the British motorcycle brand will be the Norton V4.
The Norton V4 SV and its Café Racer version, the V4 CR, were showcased at this year’s Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The former is the brand’s flagship superbike, featuring lightweight carbon fibre body panels and carbon wheels. The standard V4 has conventional bodywork.
Both the V4 and V4 CR are powered by a 1,200cc, 72-degree V4, liquid-cooled engine that produces 185 BHP @ 12,000 rpm and 125 Nm @ 9,000 rpm.
The bikes are based on an aluminium chassis with a fully adjustable 43 mm Ohlins USD fork in the front and an Ohlins mono-shock in the rear. They use a single-sided swingarm made from billet aluminium, and Brembo brakes with dual 330 mm rotors in the front and a single rotor at the back.
TVS has confirmed that “two exciting models, including a flagship superbike,” will be launched in India towards the end of this year. However, exactly which variant of the V4, that is still unclear.
