China: Suzuki Alivio (Maruti Ciaz) interiors spied

The interiors of the Suzuki Alivio have been spied in China. The car will be sold as the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in India.

The interior of the car has a dual-tone theme with wood and chrome inserts. There is an engine start/stop button, infotainment system and a climate control unit, which suggests that the car in the pictures is the top end variant. The door pockets are big with bottle holders. The Alivio is 4545 mm long, 1730 mm wide and 1475 mm high. Going by the pictures, the car's dimensions seem to have helped it gain a spacious interior. The cabin appears roomy with good leg room for the rear passengers. Suzuki seems to have paid special attention to rear-seat comfort. A centre arm-rest with cup holders and rear air-conditioner vents have been provided and the floor of the car is almost flat.

When the car goes on sale in India, it is expected to be powered by a 1.4-litre, K-Series petrol engine from the Ertiga. The car will also be available with the Ertiga's 1.3-litre, 90 bhp DDiS diesel motor. Apart from a manual gearbox, an Automated Manual Transmission could also be available.

The Ciaz will compete against the Honda City, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, Nissan Sunny and Renault Scala.
