CS Santosh finishes 36th in Dakar 2015

CS Santosh is the very first Indian to compete in the grueling Dakar Rally. While Dakar 2015 was his maiden attempt, he not only managed to participate, but also finished the race at an impressive 36th position. The event that spanned across a fortnight and 9,295 kms, took place between 3rd January 2015 and 17th January 2015 across Argentina, Bolivia and Chile.

Based out of Bangalore, Santosh has been a regular at motocross, supercross and dirt track events. Supported by Red Bull he was riding a KTM 450 and ranked 36th from a total of 79 finishers, with a time of 60 hours, 39 minutes, 20 seconds. The race started with 167 motorcycles, 137 cars and 63 trucks along with 45 quad-bikes. The finish line saw the arrival of only 79 motorcycles, 47 cars, 43 trucks and 18 quad-bikes. Santosh sustained a few falls and multiple injuries through his attempt, including a fractured toe. However, he kept the race going and will now begin preparations for Dakar 2016.
